Good Morning oil filter porn lovers

Filter was off friends 19’ F-150 with v-8 4WD truck. Oil was Mobil 1 5w20 Syn high mileage. Unknown miles as he doesn’t have a log. 122,xxx on truck. Made January 3, 2023.

In/on: M1 5w20 SYN HM he brought and STP XL 10590

Glad he got a PG to go back on, at least I think those are PG.

Yeah, the shop he took it to uses Auto Extra/Protec junk. The STP’ XL’s are PG made.


I had a blue STP for a MB last night; filter had manufacturing defect. Luckily MB parts had a few OEM ones for us.

If people are going to go cheap with filters at least go with Champ, Supertech or FRAM. No way would I install that Protec junk on anyone's vehicle they are known to tear and those louvers being closed is terrible QC.

A little more than oil related failures but it does happen. GM had a bulletin on aftermarket oil filter media coming apart and plugging oil passages if I remember correctly. Let me try to find it.
