This oil filter and NAPA Syn was off a friends 2018 Nissan Sentra. Had 6k on oil and filter. Put a tough guard and some M1 5w30 in. Car has 65,xxx on it. Date code was october 3, 2022 also.

Looks decent to me @6k miles. And normal M&H Puro attached flat spring dome bypass. The PXLs posted with the detached bypass/compression spring combo like Champ Labs/Fram something new from M&H. Still made in the US.

Purolator has used that flat spiral bypass spring for many years on lots of their oil filters.

That's not a bypass spring. That's the "leaf spring" that holds the filter guts together. Something Purolator uses in most of their filters. That one has 4 smaller legs, so might make it more "springy" than the ones without "legs".
