This is my sons car. He wants to replace the fuel filter and has found that NAPA offers the lowest price on a Pro Select filter, $10.49. The WIX Gold is $24.99. He told me that the NAPA parts guy stated that they are the SAME filter. He also said the NAPA parts guy stated that the Gold was more expensive because it has WIX GOLD printed on the box. I told my son that my Bull Patty meter detector would have peaked after those statements. Opinions?
BTW, I posted this here because there was not a fuel filter forum.

I would suggest a Bosch fuel filter. Made in Japan and very high quality. Most likely a reboxed OEM filter. Part number 71571.

Many if not most Wix fuel filters are made in China, including the one for your 96 Corolla. Applies to both Wix/Gold and the Proselect

Proselect is Pro-Tec, which is still made by Wix, albeit to a cheaper spec.

I am probably thinking about Promotive. Thanks for the clarification.
