While waiting for a car wash the other day, I got to reading this sign. It looks like "Mark VII Equipment" is the company that manufactures the equipment in the car wash.

What I find odd is that they make this (I think) several hundred thousand dollar product and then are like "whatever happens, don't blame us".

I totally understand everything after the first comma, and that's how it should be, but just to be like "yeah, our product completely collapsed on top of you causing injury in the wash building due to a malfunction or manufacturing error, but hey, sucks to be you."

It's like a toy company making a kids electric pick up truck and then it catching fire and injuring it's riders. "Sorry, not responsible. Says so on the sign."

Take pride in your products.

P.S. No one was injured during the wash and there was no damage to my vehicle - thankfully. ;)

They can't be held responsible if the operator doesn't maintain their equipment. That is probably what they're getting at. If the owner lets the bolts rust out of the wall and the thing collapses on the car, you wouldn't hold them accountable for that.

It makes sense to me. "We wash cars without damaging them but we don't guarantee the same for thingamabobs attached to cars."

That's been on all of our area washes for decades. The machines, whether the touchless, spinning brush, or hanging rags can rip stuff up. They even say to lower or remove your antenna if the old style standing rod type.

My local car wash always unscrews the antennas and they tape the rear wiper arms to the window. The car wash prices have gotten a bit too steep for me. I used to splurge on the diamond service when it was $16. Now, it's closer to $30.

I'm fortunate to use a nearby car wash that's upgrades their equipment yearly, without increasing prices. It's a family owned business, and they do a great job. They usually close for a month to make repairs / upgrades / maintenance. Never had any damage on my cars.
