Printer Problems

I'm about to go Office Space on my HP OfficeJet 4630.

It's connected over Wi-Fi and scans fine, printing is another issue. The first document I try to print I have no problem with, however that print job gets stuck in the print spooler queue so I can't print anything else and it won't let me cancel it. If I reboot the PC, it reprints the first document each time, over and over. This is occurring on multiple machines, all running W10.

Any idea what is stopping the printer from confirming the first print job completed?

Post the answer if you ever find it. I'm having problems with my HP M1212MFP. Computer sees it but nothing happens when I print.

how often do you print color?

maybe a brother all in one and dump the HP. they have cheap aftermarket toner too.

I have 10+ in service now with 0 issues... a couple canons which for the most part are equally as good except sometimes driver glitches etc.

as a plus toner never dries out and the cost per page is much less than ink.

Is it the same document every time? PDFs or what document type? Crappy PDFs are notorious for causing printer issues. Does the printer have the latest firmware? Note, do not update firmware via WiFi, use a USB cable or wired network.

HP Consumer grade printers are junk, the support on them is useless (and rude) do yourself a favor and go right ahead and go office space on it and replace it with anything except a HP.

This one sounds like wrong driver (such as Microsoft default driver) or driver not installed correctly. Try this:

Download current "full feature" driver from https://support.hp.com/us-en/driver...965847/model/3965848/swItemId/Im-80811-7
Remove all copies of that printer from Devices.
Turn the printer off.
Run the installer you downloaded. You may want to deselect the optional "Help"/"Ink"/"Experience" software.
When the installer says to connect the printer, turn it back on, after a minute the install should continue.
After it completes, you should be able to print.

What you need is a laser printer.
Toner lasts forever and is dirt cheap to replace.

Get off the ink jet hamster wheel.

Try a Brother HLL2320D if b&w is good enough.
Currently about $100 but can be had for $50ish on sale...

FW is up to date, seems to be a common issue from reading online. One suggest was unchecking "enable bidirectional communication" from the port tab of printer properties but that didn't help. I have an extra ink cartridge that I'd like to at least use up before junking this thing, but life's too short to deal with something stupid like this.

I'm eyeing this up as a replacement.

Just bought the 2730 last week, so same model family as yours. I am impressed with it and I have used all the features.
Had a Brother laser color mfc before that for about 10 years. Drums were getting worn so decided on the 2730.
Bought it at Staples store and had them match the amazon price for an extra toner cartridge. The one that ships with the machine is a starter cartridge with less printing capacity.
Good choice!
