Prices On 90's Ford Trucks Are Through The Roof !

It's called market manipulation. We are at a point where it's been going on so long that prices are way up there. When an individual wants to sell his vehicle the first thing he does is look at marketplaces to see what everyone else has them priced at. When you see all the nonsense that has been posted you add fuel to the fire by also posting yours at a high price. Used car dealers started this a long time ago.
It isn't nonsense if people are willing to pay that price. Why wouldn't you list it in the same price range as everyone else with the same year and condition vehicle?

You would be foolish to list it for less when people are willing to pay more. That's not, "manipulating the market". That's pricing according to what the market will bear.

Doesn't hurt to try. Ads are free, all you're doing is paying for parking/ insurance/ tags, standing costs which don't really matter for a couple of weeks. And if noone bites, it's no hassle to lower the price or re-list the ad.

Used car market is softer here than it was two years ago, FWIW.

I listed my mustang on a few sights maybe four or five years ago and was bombarded by people who spoke little English making some crazy offers. I eventually asked a used car guy to sell it for me. It's a big risk to sell a car yourself to anyone who isn't local. And never ever list something on FB marketplace.

It is worth whatever someone will pay, I agree but that doesn't mean that you weren't manipulated into paying more than it is worth. Used car lots will post a vehicle as an independent seller at a high price and then point to those ads as what people are paying. You as an individual seller will also see those ads and list your vehicle the same because of manipulation.

Prices are funny that way. They mess with your head. I'm the perfect example with this. I was both happy and surprised to see that my truck is worth more than I paid for it.... And that if my house lost 80% of its value overnight, it would still be worth more than I paid for it. (At least according to Homes.com). But none of it matters because I will more than likely die owning both.

Both have held up better with age over the last 35 years than I have.

So how much money are we talking here? $10K for any truck that works is quite cheap in todays market? So is it a 90's Ford truck thing, or just continuance of the stupid used car market pricing?

This one I saw recently, can't find it now...
$12K for a diesel doesn't really seem oppressive to me in todays world. The other one is $30K. Claiming $40K in mods. Will someone buy it?
This one has been for sale for well over a year? You can list for whatever - doesn't mean it will be sold?

I figure a lot of these vehicles will go back to work. They are affordable compared to new trucks, and still capable of working.
