This too shall pass. However I am grateful I lucked out and bought 39qts of Amsoil before the initial price increase. But it has to be rough on most blenders that are not the big boys on the Walmart shelf.

I don’t know what Amsoil is doing but my coveted Castrol 0w40 jumped from $27 to $41 on Amazon overnight which will put an end to my 0w40 Castrol boner. I’m down to five 5qt jugs.

I certainly appreciate Amsoil will not ever reduce quality and/or performance to meet a price point. I’m willing to pay for that. I suspect oils that are not increasing prices during the shortages are in fact using lower quality base oils and additives.

What does the 2nd quote mean for the dealers—selling more expensive oil but getting commission based on the older, lower price?
