Nice filter, excellent results at 6200 miles. Pretty much standard results for these PG/PG made filters. Wish they would give out the date code format for them. But "24" in beginning would at least be the year made.

Thanks for c&p.

Went to website - little as 20 microns? But the range they posted in the technical section seems like Wix XP area code …
O'Reilly states the PG made Microgard XL is 99% @ 25 microns, not exactly XP rock catcher numbers-BUT, PG could be a little less ambiguous with their info. My indy has been using these 2500XL PGs (in Service Pro form) on the company Transit 3.5 in my sig for religious 7500 mile OCIs-they've been good, but I'm sure the engine is pretty clean inside since I've been handling oil changes on it since day 1.

Yes, there is conflicting info on efficiency specs and wording. That's been brought up in a couple other threads. I emailed PG three times when that was being discussed, and I never got any response.

That's the Micrgard Select made in Vietnam filter, so who nows if maybe it has different media and performance for some reason since Microgard Select is O'Reilly exclusive. That too was something I was trying to find out by PG email.

Yeah, I wish they were more clear. AAP's Carquest Premium oil filter listing says "99.5% efficiency at 20 microns" while Oreilly states "99% efficiency (Laboratory Test Performance per ISO 4548-12 at 25 microns)." I would think to trust the quoted ISO test more than the Carquest's claim. I think 99% at 25 micron would still be an extroadinary value. Hard to know who to beleive, but appearances suggest most of the PG XL variants seem to have the same media. Efficiency can differ by model numbers though. 🤷

^^^ I've dropped Motorcraft because of sloppy glue that comes loose in service. So going to try a Microgard Select on the Coyote next OCI. 99% @ 25u is OK with me. Probably more efficient than a leaky Endurance. 😀 Coil spring and no metal-to-metal bypass valve used in the Microgard Select.

I don't believe that MGS is 99% at 25 microns.

I would think it is the same filter as the PG2500EX which says it's Micron Rating is 42~60 and filters "particles as small as 25 microns".

See post 17 ... says so with the ISO 4548-12 spec test reference. Much more direct and clear than the efficiency claims made on PG's website.
