Precision oiler?

Does anybody have a suggestion for a reusable precision oiler? I would like it to deliver single drops which would be appropriate for delicate applications such as some firearm points, individual bike chain rollers, small threaded or pivoting applications.

Tufoil used to have a hypodermic type needle.

Look up oil pen on Amazon. I got one filled with oil for about $6.00. Its probably a lifetime supply of oil unless I use it to add oil to my car.

If I have to apply a very small amount of oil or adhesive, I'll use a home made "watch oiler". I take a piece of solid copper wire, usually 18, 20 or 22 gauge. Form one end into a loop handle. The other end gets flattened by placing it on a vise and striking it with a hammer. It's crude, but effective. Put a little oil on the flattened end and then touch it to the part you want to oil. The oil wicks off the "watch oiler" and onto what you want oiled, and you can easily control the application.

Sewing machine oilers come in different shapes and sizes. I filled one with 90 grade gear oil.

I have used hypodermic needles with good luck. 10cc seems to be the ideal size. I dull up the tip with a Scotchbrite wheel to avoid needlesticks. Make sure the plunger is silicone and not butyl like most of them are. Medical grade silicone plungers are grey in color. Butyl are black. If you try to use butyl, the plunger will swell up.

There are TONS of options on Amazon. This is one of the products were a cheap chinese knockoff would work just fine. If you got Amazon Prime, there are tons that are eligible for it as well. If you don't have Amazon Prime - you should reevaluate your shopping. For less than $8/month it's saved me SOOO much just in taxes alone.

That's what I use, I have one filled with Kroil.
