Worry more about your timing belt , motor mounts and transmission. If you use PP , oil will be the least of your maintainence worries. Rockauto has great kits for sale, I recommend the Aisin Kit , has the exact same belt that comes OEM as well as OE bearings , tensioner and water pump. And some Gatorback belts too , for the P/s + Alternator belts since they have to come off anyways. And valve adjustments ........

i do these jobs all day long and they are cake. I can do the t belt in under 3 hours and the valves in about half the labor time paid. I will be using OEM only for everything on this car. Still got some time to go, though. Only 85k on mine so far. I also always change out the rollers and waterpump, foolish not to IMO

As far as the transmission, i plan on a drain/fill every 15k with D4 fluid, and ATF filter every 3rd drain and fill. Shifts excellent; quick and firm

If you have never changed out the ATF filter (looks like cartridge oil filter), i highly recommend doing so. They are easy.

The general opinion seems to be to stick with what i'm doing. thanks for the input

Yea I had Honda-Acura replace my transmission under good faith and gave me a 3 year warranty. Just did the first drain and fill with Maxlife at 10k on the new trans. Liking the difference so far. I might worry about the cartridge in another 50k miles lol.

The oil life monitor of your Honda is calibrated with dino oil, if you use synthetic then you should be able to at least go down to zero before changing oil.
