Here's the sample report for my 4runner. I got trigger happy and decided to send a sample in at only 2,700 to see how things looked, it was my first sample ever after all. Sounds like all is well, I plan on doing 7,500 miles on this oil and OEM filter, then running a sample again.

What would one expect to see as the TBN for this mileage on a typical synthetic oil sample? Sorry for my ignorance on that subject of TBN, but from what I've read 5.0 at only 2700 miles seems a bit low?

This is expected. Popular Russian journal made a test of oil condition with and without flushing. They checked fresh oil properties after 30 minutes of engine run. Results are here, sorry, in Russian only.

Short translation.

Fresh oil TBN: 8.4
Used oil (they will be drained) TBN: 3.2
TBN after "drain-refill" procedure (most popular in the US): 7.3
After Lukoil flushing oil (yes, we use a special flushing oil!) usage: 8.5 (more than original oil)
After flushing oil "Avro" TBN: 8.2
After usual flush: 8.0 and 8.1 (HiGear and AutoDoctor brands)
After long running flush LiquiMoly: 8.0, Suprotec: 8.2
