As I recall, the Matrix was made in Ontario while its twin Pontiac Vibe was made in Fremont. Not sure...
I remember Corollas and Geos being cranked out every 15 seconds or so. Some crazy number.

The old oil looks like used engine oil and the new is clear. I feel like I need to do a spill and fill in 100 miles or so, but probably won’t.
The magnets look like all the other pictures I saw on the web.
I’m in for supper and need to finish the job yet.

Had shop change 3 and some change of Amsoil CVT fluid. Current fill with Amsoil CVT, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and 89e5 Amoco.

1999 Ford F150 4R100 with approx 193k miles
First spill and fill since I bought the truck from my neighbor a few years ago. Didn’t look so bad coming out but the clear bottle tells the real story.
Will need to do this 2x more times to get all fresh fluid. At least it has a drain plug!
Not bad honestly. Surprised it has a drain plug, might be aftermarket! They were not common on Ford vehicles in that era. Love those Ford trucks by the way; the 5.4 2v might not get you there fast but will keep on going and was superior to the 3v.
That was my thought as well, wasn’t sure if it’s an aftermarket pan or not. Guy I bought it from was the original owner and got the 4x4 and tow package which bumps the base 4r70 transmission unit to the beefier 4r100 as well as upgrading the axles to 8.8 front / 9.75 rear.
In any case it’s a real project with a long list of items to address. Doesn’t see much use at the moment but hopefully we’ll be closing on some land in this coming year so it should eventually turn into my plow rig / farm truck

Drain plug is accessible with wheels on the ground. A little tight squeeze but it’s doable.
This is my daily and will be doing 2x more exchanges shortly. Will change the inline filter on last change.
Next up is power steering flush.
Going to doing this same thing on my son’s 2011 CR-V here soon. How much fluid is needed for one drain and fill on the transmission and the power steering flush? I was thinking of buying 4 quarts of DW1 and 2 quarts of the Honda PS fluid. Only planning to do one round on the transmission fluid change for now.
For the PS flush, I use the MityVac hooked up to the return line. Suck out the old, add fresh fluid and continue to suck through. Let the reservoir run a little low when you reconnect return line. The fill and let 'er run a little to bleed. Easy peasey.
How much new fluid do you typically use?
About a quart or a bit more? I kinda forget. I've used the O'Reilly and Lubegard Honda equivalents as well as the Honda stuff.
OK, thanks. Trying to avoid getting way too much. I’ll probably pick up three bottles then because each one is 12 ounces.
4 + 2 should be correct. Got about 3.5 drained from the transmission and system capacity for the PS is right around 1 qt so having 2 to flush and top off should do the trick.
Not sure if the 2011 is different but on the 07 the PS reservoir is right up front on top, super easy to disco and attach drain tube.
