post your latest transmission lubricant change.

Did another spill and fill on my daughter's 2004 Escape. The fluid coming out was looking pretty decent so this might be the last for several thousand km. In went 3+ litres of convention Dex/Merc (finally found some cheap stuff).

Drained the pan with a suction pump and filled with Q8 Auto MV

Old unknown fluid going out

Did a spill and fill on my Ram 3500 6.7 with the AS69RC. It had 172,000km on the clock and about 24,000km over its specified service index. Out came a mix of the factory Mobil 3309, PetroCan Duradrive and Maxlife LV, it was still quite bright and red. In went my go to Co-op ATF SL group 4 based 7.7cSt fluid. It suitable for use with this transmission.

I have put on around 1600km of light towing since and it runs like a top.

New to us 07 Impala, 3.5l 187k miles
Out: unknown. Siphoned 2gals of not terrible or burnt but old reddish brown.
In: 2 gal Maxlife atf.
Will repeat in 500-1000 miles, then on 3rd siphon and fill, I'll drop the pan and replace the filter.

That seems way too cheap. Are you sure they actually replaced the pan and used Mopar Fluid? The pan’s MSRP is $471 and the fluid’s MSRP is $35/qt.

It was $889 for everything, I had to go dig out the receipt.

The filters and fluid aren’t that expensive anymore or atleast what they were a few years ago. I know there’s a couple of Mopar stores listing them for high prices still online though which is ridiculous. I remember pricing it a few years ago for my 2015 Ram I had and it was about what you said then.

The Mopar filter from the dealer for the Jeeps ZF 8H50 was $253 through them. It takes about 6 quarts I think for just a pan drop. The Mopar fluid through the dealer was $23 a quart. Privately is even cheaper you can get a 6 quart case for less than $100 now on Amazon. They charged me $200 in labor. Which is not quite 2 hours since they charge me $125 a labor hour. The exhaust doesn’t have to be moved in the Jeep so the labor isn’t as extensive I guess.

They charged me $60 for the transfer case (which is still ATF +4) and $180 for both axle fluid drain and fills (which oddly enough it takes the same fluid for front and rear). Those prices include the fluid and labor.

Now I know the filter for my 2021 Ram is going to be more expensive. The ZF 8H75’s filter is considerably more expensive and the labor is a bit more. But I’ve got a couple more years before it’ll be due.

Wow, I was super nervous I’d screw something up so I psyched myself out of doing it myself especially with the extended warranty lol

I think it had about 75k when I did it last fall. I’ll do it again at about 125k and just do it myself. There’s enough info and videos out there.
