Post your latest tire purchase

Latest purchase was a used 2-yr old set of 5 Yokohama Geolandars 205/70/15 for the ol' 1998 crv. $30ea. They still had great meat on 'em. The kid who was selling them had upgraded to larger bling bling wheels and low profile new tires. I asked about his old stock wheels, he said he'd be keeping them in case he decided years later to revert back. Makes sense when it's time to sell the car.

A pair of Michelin Pilot Super Sports 245/35-18 for the rear of my car. I was parallel parking and gashed the sidewall of the right rear tire. The alloy has a nice gash, too. That'll be fixed this fall.

I got CrossClimate 2s at Costco about 25,000km ago - one of them went flat and it turned out it couldn't be fixed due to the positions of multiple holes. These tires have been discontinued in this size so Costco actually gave me four new tires at a cost of $101. Nice deal for me.

4 new Michelin Defender 2 for the CR-V - mileage is currently at 317,256km so these should get me to 400,000km (hopefully). 215/65R16

I just bought a set of Travelstar UN106 white wall tires at Walmart (online/shipped free). They’ll be going on my latest acquisition (more info once I get pics of it all cleaned up). $72.08/per tire… the lowest price ww tire I could find in 235/75R15. They’re decent tires. I have a set on my Gremlin and had them on my 2000 Town Car.

2019 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4WD V-6 double-cab. I purchased the Vredestein Pinza AT, stock size 245/75R15. After only a couple of days, I'm very happy with them. They ride nice and are as quiet as all of the tests seem to experience and write about online. It's a good looking tire with an aggressive tread pattern and look without looking like an M/T type tire.

2026 Honda Civic Touring Sedan Hybrid
Came with Continental ProContact RX really mediocre, especially in wet
Dealer exchanged them before I took delivery for my preferred tire ( had them on my 2023 Touring Sedan absolutely loved them) Continental Extremecontact DWS06 plus 235/40/18

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 in size 225/45/19 for my 2015 Mazda 6

$529 installed after a $70 rebate

Tire Rack is closing out some 2022 production tires. These are fairly sticky summer tires and are normally close to $1,000 installed. My previous tire was a Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 which should be pretty close to the same level of grip, so I'm excited to try them out. I was expecting to pay at least $750 for a decent set of all-seasons and didn't want to spend $1,000 for the same Hankooks I previous bought for $600 only 6 years ago.

Tire rack said these were on sale because they were 2022 production, but what I got was "3123" which must have been mid-late 2023 production

Michelin Defender 2 on 17” wheels for my daughter’s Prius V. Produced week 41 25 in Mexico.

She has Hakkapelliitta R3’s on the stock wheels so winter was not a concern. They sure remind me of the Michelin X of yore.

Dealer is in Manchester NH so I asked him how popular the “All Weather” tires are. Answer: very.

They are a major Nokian dealer so they sell a lot of WRG5’s, but also Michelin CrossClimate2 and Goodyear WeatherReady 2. He said for the most part only people heading north into the mountains or those who have to get to work early before the plows have been out buy dedicated winter tires anymore.

Last week it was a set of 8 Mastertrack M-TRAC OSD in 11R22.5 for my dump truck. The day after I put those on I ruined a pneumatic tire and wheel on my skidsteer so this week I bought 4 Maxam solid tires and wheels in 10-16.5. I’m keeping the lights on at the tire shop this month.

Continental SportContact 7. 225/45R18. The Tire Rack does not stock that size but Discount Tire obtained them. They are a summer performance tire with a 240 treadwear rating. They have foam on the inside to help reduce road noise. Will put the Bridgestone Potenza Sport AS's back on later in 2026.
