2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6, 66,098 miles
4,995 miles on oil
Out: Valvoline Restore and protect 5W-30 w/ Honda 15400-PLM-A02 oil filter
In: Same oil, Microgard Select MSL57356
My father bought this car back in April as he always was a fan of my brothers 9th gen, except he wanted the V6. So far it has been great, knock on wood. I disabled VCM not too long after we got it. And not even a day after we got it, I poured in some Valvoline Restore and Protect. Im happy to report It did not burn a drop of oil with this last OCI. On the second run of Valvoline Restore and Protect now. So I hope proactively using Valvoline Restore and Protect, and disabling VCM will keep this engine happy and oil consumption free. My father, who is a 68 years old Army vet, enjoys this car and has been using Shell V-Power in it too. Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

The previous oil change I used the last of my T&S stash. I have actually gotten better results with “vanilla” Mobil 1 on UOA than I have with Mobil 1 T&S. Both have given great UOAs but I will be sticking with the “vanilla” flavor going forward.

@The Critic is very familiar with this hot little Toyota; dang thing seems to be bullet proof and is serving my niece and her girls very well. Approx 26K miles in 19 months without a hiccup.

Dumped the factory fill Idemitsu, and refilled with Mobil 1 at 1,030 mi on the 2026 2.5 Forester

I saw that too, and suspect he/she/they have better control of the impact than I do. The one time I took this approach, the drain plug came out so fast that oil sprayed all over the impact!
I've been using an impact to remove bolt screws for the bottom covers. I'd never want to be ratcheting by hand trying to hold the other side up for 10 minutes.
Only because I am doing a couple short break in OCI's. Then it goes to Valvoline Hybrid 0W-20 full synthetic for the foreseeable future.
How do you remove the metal engine oil drain cover sweet pea?
