To clarify, we bought the car 20K miles ago and this filter was in it when purchased. Unknown as to how long it had really been in there so out it went. Also, a lot of gravel/oil chip road driving here in southwestern Illinois.Depends on local environment. I used to live in an area with bad forest fires regularly and didn’t notice any difference with vehicle air filters. At work most our helicopters have a fancy version of a K&N air filter (look up AFS or FDC engine filters) and they can build up material real fast when they’re around fires.Depends on local environment.
