Post your latest oil change

My daughters '08 has almost 4x that mileage (252k). Is Elsa's 2WD or AWD?
2wd LX. Dark blue color, aftermarket radio. The mighty K24 for the win!
Elsa has raised and is raising 3 kids on her own. 2 have finished college; 3rd is in school.
She works 2 jobs, one full time and cleans houses after work. Great gal. And she really appreciates the things people do for her.

2008 CRV with 252k mile. 4900 miles on the oil. 100 miles shy of my planned 5k interval but it was 40F, partly sunny, I had time, and she might go visit friends this week.

Out - 5qts Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-20
In - 3.75qts Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-20 and .75qt of Mobil 1 plain triple action 5W-30. Used up 2 open qts so I didn't need to open a 5qt jug.
Filter off- Honda Filtech A01.
Filter on - my last one from @researcher, Honda Filtech A01,.

This is the first time I saw some oil drip under the car. It looks like it was coming from filter gasket possibly. I did drain and re-use that filter after 900 miles last time. Maybe the gasket didn't like being re-compressed? The filter was on tight, I used my filter cap to loosen it. Also notice the paint scraped off where it contacted. The gasket is not that thick or far from edge when I look at it. I never had an issue before but also never drained/re-used a filter before. All cleaned up with brake cleaner after so we'll see what next change brings. No oil was added over the 4900 miles and it was still at full mark.

That's a P-style base gasket, and the the paint scraped being off the can is because a filter with the P-style gasket (also called a 'torque stop' style filter) will bottom out the can on the seat when correctly installed. So yes, if the rubber gasket was compressed already, then it's not going to provide the same seal if removed and reinstalled because you can't tighten the filter beyond the can bottoming out on the seat like you can with a flat cut base gasket. With only 900 miles on the filter, should have just left the filter on without removing it to drain if you didn't want to use a new filter. 900 miles of "dirty" oil left in the filter isn't going to hurt anything.

this^^^. I never remove a filter unless it’s getting replaced. I run all my filters 2x.

thanks for the mention of the A01 filter stash I sent to ya.. I bet it didn't like being re-installed, never have done that but most of those gaskets are kind of compressed whenever I've removed an A01.

Here's to another 5k miles with the last of the A01's! 😎 (couldn't find a saluting icon)

I normally change the filter every time, whatever my interval is. This was first I can recall ever putting it back on.

I wanted more of the oil out. I didn't like the motor performance with it. I also didn't like how fast it actually changed color that never had that before. I don't know if there was some other issue between the Delo XSP 400 5W-40 and the HPL PCMO 5W-30. Both my daughter and I had noticed the lack wanting to rev to higher RPM for merging etc. First time that ever happened. I had run the XSP 400 5W-40 on the OCI prior and didn't notice issues.

I switched to the Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-20 and all was back to normal. I'll call it an anomaly but I only have 2qts of Delo 5W-40 and that will get used up probably in father-in-laws Renegade again next with whatever else I have here. I need to see what in my stash is oldest, probably Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W-30. He's had multiple changes of the Delo already but his motor only has 20k, more HP/Torque than the 18 year old 252k CRV.

I had planned on draining the Carquest EP on the Accord at next change and putting it back for another Valvoline Restore and Protect run. I'll need to think about that. The max 1/2 quart really won't matter I don't think since I'm still using 1/2 qt ~ 1300 miles.

2018 Yoda Highlander 3.5l v6
89,454 mi on the rig
3,476 oci

Out: 5q Valvoline Restore and Protect plus .8 SuperTech both 0w20; OEM filter
In: 5q Valvoline Restore and Protect plus 1 Valv HMFS both 0w20; TG9972 filter

First run of Valvoline Restore and Protect in this motor. We definitely had a few dealer 10k oci’s early in the life of the vehicle, so I wanted to run Valvoline Restore and Protect as good results with other vehicles. Oil and filter looked good. Some carbon caught but not much. Went up in efficiency with the TG to see how much I can catch, but keeping the OCIs low for the long term.

2018 Equinox at 83,558 miles (3,881 on last change)
Out: Valvoline Restore and Protect 0w20 and Mobil 1 filter
In: Valvoline Restore and Protect 0w20 and AC Delco PF-64 (Walmart did not have any M1-114A filters for some reason)
This is the second Valvoline Restore and Protect change and so far no oil consumption. The oil drained 'looked' a little darker than usual and I'll cut open the filter when I get back to work in a few days. I'll run this fill to about 5,000.

2018 Kia Soul + 2.0 GDI with 136748 miles
OCI: 2000 miles

Out: Quaker State Full Synthetic 5W20; Pennzoil HPZ37 filter
In: Mobil Super Synthetic 5W30; Hyundai/Kia OEM filter

Oil light started flickering last week. Oil checked; level was right at F on the stick. Took 'er in to the dealer. Pressure sensor and sending units tested and found OK. Oil pressure was tested and found to be right on spec. No leaks were found anywhere. Had them change the oil and filter just in case.

This is the third time I've had this issue, and it's been exclusively with SOPUS products: Platinum Ultra 10W30, Platinum Euro 5W30, and QS Full Synthetic 5W20 have all given me a blinking oil light. Notably, the Ultra did this while using a Hyundai/Kia OEM filter.

Will be sticking with Mobil oils going forward.

FWIW, oil consumption continues to improve and is now down to a quart every 3620 miles.

Wife’s 13 Fusion 2.0 ecoboost. 195k mi. Only 5k on this oci as were selling it to her nephew for his first car. Just a couple weeks ago replaced front driver side axle & rear brakes. Also replaced tie rods, air filter & spark plugs. He should be good to go for a new driver.
