Just wow!!! Almost a 30k OCI? Any make up oil? I’d love to see a used oil analysis of this OCI.

There was no makeup oil needed, with steady, fine smelling dipstick readings.

@High Performance Lubricants and I agreed there was nothing left to prove, other than I could have done 40k mile OCIs !

I came here just to say this. I’m making a guess that the oil chemistries are similar, if you’re picky about such things. The 1.5 quarts of 5-30 is a very significant change for this truck. It likes to run at low rpm’s, like 55 mph uphill at 1400 rpm, which you’d FEEL in the 4 cylinder. It was rough and thrashy even. This modest increase in VI is a significant change in NVH at the low-rpm pulls. Significant. It just went from sounding like a Subaru 4 to something much smoother and refined. I’ve never seen such a small change make such a big difference.

Changed OEM fuel filter with a Carquest red from RA clearance. I’ve been doing 20k mile changes, but I’m thinking the 30k OEM rec might be just fine based on looks of the filter. Any input would be appreciated.

2018 VW Golf Sportwagen. Tuned/making >2x stock power (~400 vs. ~170 out of a 1.8 L turbo 4). 122,920 mi odo. 4,849 mi OCI. 3x track days, 2x autocross. All catch can contents dumped back in except condensation when I had it (morning after a track day typically).

Also changed out my aluminum oil pan/oil pan gasket/one-time use bolts (20) and oil level sensor seal; just haven't been happy since this was installed several years ago, always seems to have some weeping. Comes with a mag drain plug. Also ran a can of Liquimoly DI Jectron as usual prior to the change. Collected sample for Blackstone as usual to updatre my legendary table/graph for this car. Curious this change mainly on the wear metals/Si w/r to the Uni pre-filter I ran for this change. I didn't note any dust like I had noted before in the intake hose so fingers crossed this sorted it. I added ~1/2 qt over this change from the track use, normal consumption. For street use I don't note any consumption on this car, last I checked compression about 6 mos. ago it showed 180psi across all 4 cylinders. Note this car didn't have a break-in oil change; first OCI was around ~8K miles. I didn't note anything in the filter. Bottom end is v. clean. Box of returns to FCP filling up.

Pulled a wheel; pads/rotors look great; Air and cabin filters look new. I did service the transmission before I gave it to Elsa.
This is probably the cleanest 2008ish vehicle I ever worked on. Even the lugs spun on easily by hand; no gorilla air gun damage.
Used CR-Vs tend to be well used. This one ain't. She loves it!

the dealer gave me a significant coupon plus it keeps me in the 'free oil changes' side.

the replacement fluid looked like a box of valvoline CVT.

Dad was hesitant to buy Quaker State but wanted to save money. I told him Quaker State will be just fine in there. He said back in the 70s it was really bad not sure what his basis is but I know it will be fine.
