Same. I have a soft spot for old cars even though I can afford new ones. Makes a lot of financial sense, and it's satisfying to get more life out of something old.

There are other benefits too!

Unless you had a 90s Blazer and the far right knob always broke. I think GM sourced the OEM from a sidestreet in Pakistan and the aftermarket were Chinese of even lesser quality.

I have enough Ford points for 2 more changes in the new Ranger though, so, yay!

So my latest change = whatever Ford put in it, 3500 on vehicle, 3500 on oil.

Motorcraft synthetic blend no doubt. Or whatever cheaper bulk oil they can get away with.

The Toyletta oil filter numbering is a plot to over throw the government. I gave up a long time ago. But they are really nice filters at a really fair price. Doh!

Couple of weeks ago, 2022 Outback Subaru oil 0W20 & filter at the dealer.

So far, so good with the work being done.

Quaker State Ultimate Protection was a darling oil a decade or so ago. I don't remember why, it was more thickerererererer or something.

Subarus are the easiest engines to change oil. Get a oil extractor.

2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L with VCM enabled.
Out: Super Tech High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30, Pentius PLXL7317 oil filter.
In: Super Tech High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30, Super Tech ST6607 oil filter.

5,068 miles on the oil. Oil still at full line on dipstick (no oil added during OCI).
Oil looked normal with a darkish brown color.

Also did an ATF drain / fill with 3.3 quarts Idemitsu Type H Plus (picked up at AAP in store for $1.95 a quart on clearance a few days ago).
I bought 24 quarts of these @ $1.95 a quart = $46.80, so this stash should last a very long time.
