Post your latest oil change

I probably should have. I didn’t do a ton of research before selecting Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage. At least it will be an interesting data point to see what this oil can do.
Clean throttle body with Lucas pea throttle body cleaner (black bottle), BG EPR in oil crankcase, and Redline Si-1 fuel tank. Then Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30

2025 Kia Sorento S - SmartStream 2.5L - GDI + PFI

Out: 6qts Factory Fill + Old filter (Made in Korea filter), no specs, no sludge, no metal.

In: Discounted Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 0w20 + Redline SI1 (PEA) into gas tank (only 2.5oz since I use Top Tier Fuel already) + FRAM cart filter

2018 Subaru Legacy Sport.
77,528 miles on car.
6,053 OCI.

Out/In: 5qts Mobil 1 Extended Performance with maybe 16oz of HPL Premium. About 4.5qts came out. In was the same mix to get to full on the dipstick. I just used up what was in the bottle of the HPL bottle. Didn't actually look but was between 8 and 16 ounces. This is the first time using the new Mobil 1 Extended Performance Triple Action+. I got one more jug of this for my next OCI which will be around June, then Valvoline Restore and Protect is up next for 4 changes.
Off/On: Wix 57055 filter.

Will be putting in a bottle of Redline SI-1 when I go to fill up and then a bottle of B12 sometime after that. Also changed the air filter. Was a Fram Ultra. Put in OEM Subaru.

This is the difference in fill on the new full bottle vs old after using an extractor to change. Looks to be about half a quart difference not factoring in adding some ounces of HPL last time.

Out - Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30, FL-910S filter
In - Quaker State Synthetic 5w30, FL-910S filter

Next to last FL-910S in my stash. These are from a couple cases I bought a few years ago before the sloppy glue issue. After the next one, I will be using Car Quest Premiums that I stocked up during AA 20% off in November

First run of Valvoline Restore and Protect and 3/4 qt of oil was consumed. Prior drains have been mostly Mobil 1 or Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W30 at 2000-2500 mile intervals.

OCI: 2,952 (4rd oil & filter change (494, 3949, 10053,13007))
Out: AMSOIL Signature Series 0w20, Pentius PLXL7317
In: HPL Premium Plus PCMO 0W-20, Pentius PLXL7317
Replaced OEM oil drain plug with Votex magnetic oil drain plug last OCI. Minuscule amount of particles captured on magnet.

Added: I posted a few borescope pictures from inside the drain pan in another thread.

Forgive me, I’m new to learning about the technical properties of oil but an HTHS of 3.11 on the AMSOIL Signature Series 5w30 seems very unimpressive when Liqui Moly and many euro spec oils are >3.5. Is there any reason for this?
Like viscosity, HTHS is a range. One of the more important aspects of HTHS is not its starting number, but its ability to stay in range during OCIs. Amsoil typically will stay in grade while other brands may not.

HPL's Premium Plus PCMO 0W-30 HTHS is 3.0, but highly unlikely it will ever shear out of grade during an OCI. I'll take this any day over a higher starting HTHS from another brand.

Makes sense, thank you. If you have a lead foot, is a higher starting HTHS more important?
