It’s actually not consuming very much, I’m almost to 3500 miles and it’s only consumed about a half qt so far. Engines are oddYou may wish to check oil level frequently and continuously top it off so its at the fill line.
I would worry if level gets 1.5 quarts low, as engine would be running without it's full compliment of oil, and more wear could be occurring while it's 1.5 quarts low.

Just remember that baffle plate does not really have any oil flow on it, a little splash is about it. That buildup is from years and many miles of oil fumes and other. Depending oil brand choices and OCI's would impact that. I would stick with the Valvoline Restore and Protect and do about 5k mile changes. Monitor your oil level and keep it full. Easy gauge is about 1/2 way down between low and full, add 1/2 quart. Cut that filter open for inspection. Let the Valvoline Restore and Protect do what it does. If not really burning don't go crazy. You will never get all you put in back out, even the small filter holds a decent amount of oil between liquid and absorbed in the media.Wife's 2014 CRV.

In and Out: Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-20. 4qts out and 5qts in. I had put in 5qts before so there is either some burning or leaking going on. I remember the last few changes, I wasn't getting the full 5qts out but I don't remember exactly how much. Not too worried about a quart in 6k miles. We'll see if it gets better the next few changes. The plan is 2 more Valvoline Restore and Protects after this then going back to Kirkland because that is what I have lying around for that car. Maybe Kirkland with EC30.

Pics of when I put HPL in for the first time; December 2022 (these are prior to actually running it; only putting it in). I don't remember if I ran the Amsoil right before HPL or not and I don't have before Amsoil pics. Whenever it was, I ran Amsoil for 2 changes.

These are the pics today after running Valvoline Restore and Protect for one change. Prior to using Valvoline Restore and Protect the first time, I used Kirkland for I think 4 OCIs averaging 6-7k.
Looks worse. I wish I had more in-between picks. Will be doing that going forward.

But they are included in almost al of the oil change deals at AutoZone and I’ve got an AZ very close to me, so that’s really convenient for me. I threw the filter away already, so no chance of cutting open and honestly, I don't have the patience for that! ;-) The baffle just looks like it has more "stuff" on it and right above it looks more sludged up. But... I will let it go for the next 3 Valvoline Restore and Protect changes. I usually go by the MM so that is closer to 7500k but this time I wanted to be closer to 6k especially since it was the first Valvoline Restore and Protect run and that put the MM at 10%. I will probably stick to the 6k for now. I just wonder if the increase in the sludge looking stuff was due to the Kirkland. I should have taken a pic before I put the first Valvoline Restore and Protect in, but I don't think I did. I will also continue to take pics after each change (if I remember) but I will stick out the next 2 changes then go back to Kirkland because I have it and want to use it but if that means adding some EC30 then I can deal with that too. I can wait till next year for their deal that they just ran. That would put me closer to the 4th Valvoline Restore and Protect change anyway so closer to using the Kirkland. Do consider changing the PCV and possibly the hose for it. CRV Owners Club has pictures of the collapsed version, some posted/cross linked here. My daughters '08 CRV PCV hose was rock solid, not collapsed but not flexible either.
My daughters had a lot of MM changes at dealer, I'd need to check actual records if all are there. We got it from my sister with 208k, it now has 250k. Over the past 3 years it had BG EPR, probably another liquid right before oil change flush. 2 rounds of HPL Engine Cleaner 30, 3-4 rounds of 1qt HPL PCMO (instead of EC30) mixed with whatever went in (PP, Delo, maybe Mobil 1)
July of 2023 vs 3 days ago. It doesn't burn any now and didn't before either. I have not touched that with anything, I'm letting the oil do it's thing. She is 3000 miles into the first Valvoline Restore and Protect use.

A PCV that doesn't work right can contribute to cause engine deposits because the crankcase is not being evacuated well, if at all.Next time I have it in for service, I'll have them check the PCV valve. I don't think it's ever been replaced in the 178k miles it has.
All of those deposits you see may be inside the PCV the same way. Kind of a snowball effect.
