It’s hard to say as I still added a little oil over the previous 4,000+ mile OCI. The vehicle had mostly 4K mile OCI’s with Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 with good filters before Valvoline Restore and Protect , so internals I’m sure we’re clean . *It’s the piston and oil rings cleaning I’m after with the Valvoline Restore and Protect with the side benefits of Valvoline Restore and Protect being being very quiet in the engine and Valvoline Restore and Protect used oil analysis showing low wear numbers .

Why dump Valvoline Restore and Protect at only 1,000 miles ?

Let it do it's cleaning for 1,000 miles and then I wanted to get the Amsoil Signature Series 0W-16 in for an extended drain through the winter.

I don’t believe Valvoline Restore and Protect will do much for cleaning in only 1,000 miles in use )unless a portly maintained engine). Most tend to run Valvoline Restore and Protect 3,000 to 4,000 for the cleaning attributes before changing out for more Valvoline Restore and Protect and 3 to 5 more OCI’s .
