Sounds like a candidate for some Valvoline R&P. Piston rings might be stuck.
Definitely on my list to try soon. I just have a bunch of other stash that needs to get used up still, I'll see what happens.

I got the car in November '20 with 49k but don't recall carfax details if I got them. Since then it's been M1 and PP, various versions/viscosities of each. A few others like RGT and now the Delo. It had BG EPR probably at about 80k, HP EC30 at 95k and 1qt of HPL PCMO 5w-30 in each OCI since then.

IMO it's had a good history of quality fluids at least since I had it, longest interval being about 7500 miles. Anything is possible just like the many members here that experienced same issues in their vehicles. Spotless top ends, oil stays very clean, hard to see on dipstick for at least 1000 miles.

We're you able to suck all the oil out with the mity vac? When I did a 2015 F-150 3.5 EB it only got about 2.5 qts, and I had to drain the rest from below.
This also happened to me the first time. I bought a smaller diameter tube, and I am now able to extract the entire amount of oil. Sometimes, the tube hangs when entering it, you just have to play with it to pass the restriction.

If the engine looks really clean inside, and it's using as much oil as you mentioned (3 qt in 4300 miles), then either the rings are stuck and/or there's some other major place oil is getting into the combustion chambers (bad valve guide seals). There have been instances where the rings can be gummed up and stuck, but the valve train looks spotless.

4020 mi. OCI. 6 mo.

Out: PUP 5w20, Beck-Arnley filter

In: Vavl R&P 5w30, Beck-Arnley filter

Did 4 consecutive OC's with PUP. Convinced that it helped somewhat in slowing down oil burning due to ring coking from bad design piston oiling ports. Not good enough. Some have reported real relief from the VRP on this engine, so giving it a go.

2022 Toyota Tundra w/3.4TT I-Force. The engine has 3,711 miles on it, 2,914 miles on this OCI. 36,102 total miles on the truck. I took an oil sample to mail to Speediagnostix and continue trending break-in on the new engine.

Out: Mobil 1 0W-30 ESP
Off: Toyota 90915-10010 filter

In: Mobil 1 0W-30 ESP
On: Toyota 90915-10010 filter

New motor at 32k? Good they did it, sad it had to be done.

Very nice! Looks like the 2005 that I used to have (with a 6 speed manual)

Odometer miles about 360,000, but odometer is intermittent. This is a vehicle my son has, and I'm working on acquiring. He says the previous owner (trustworthy guy as far as I can tell) says the engine was rebuilt at around 270.000 miles. I intend to replace the gauge cluster at some point, but actual mileage of the vehicle itself is somewhere north of 360,000. Runs great, just got it smogged here in CA.
Thanks for sharing that. That is why I like Toyota. Their reliability and longevity after 200k is equal to some brand new non Japanese cars with 0 miles on their odometer.
