Post your latest oil change

Nice to see (another) 2.5L Fusion engine racking up the miles.

I'm in the process of swapping a 2.5L Fusion junkyard engine with 70k miles into my 2006 Miata. Hopefully it serves me well.
Sorry for the late reply. If the donor 2.5 was well maintained, you've got a lot of time to enjoy it. Not a powerhouse at 175hp but it's definitely a solid piece.

3300 miles on the oil and 12 months.

It’s my daughter’s car, which was a gift to her for graduating high school a year ago, and sees a lot of short trips, but an occasional run to Des Moines. It was my daily driver for some time.

2010 Toyota Matrix around 6,000 miles since last change per owner
Odometer at 117,000 car runs very nicely and the oil looked amazingly clean. I think these 1.8's are really great engines.
Out: Unknown oil and OEM Toyota Filter
In: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30 and Microgard Select filter

Agreed to do this for a friend of mine at work. Figured I could use the Toyota filter removal tool I had left over from owning my Lexus GS 350, but it turns out the 1.8 liter on this Matrix needs a smaller one. Thought I was stuck and almost gave up but got it off with a ratcheting removal tool (luckily it was not overtightened on previous change). Was challenging getting it seated back on tightly but managed it with some grippy gloves and elbow grease.

2022 Toyota Tundra w/3.4TT. I just had the engine replaced under the Toyota recall a couple weeks ago and decided to do a short OCI/break-in change on the factory fill. I didn’t take any pictures of the drained oil but it was thankfully uneventful, just very slightly cloudy/silver and no visible particles. I did save the filter to cut open when I get time.

Miles on engine and OCI: 795 mi

Out/Off: 7.7 quarts Factory Fill 0W-20 and a Toyota 90915-10010

In/On: 7.5 quarts Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 and a Toyota 90915-10010

2023 KIA RIO at work. 44k on car

Out/off: guessing Pennzoil and wrong PZ 37 oil filter. Stupid do exist even working at quick lubes.

In/on: MADE IN CHINA PROTEC 51334 and Safety Kleen 0w20 oil.

Old oil had maybe 600 miles on it. Customer said they saw oil dripping from underneath. Thank You quick lube moron for overfilling and spilling new oil all over shields too. I degreased undercarriage with “castrol super clean” and water. Cut and post of filter soon.

2012 GMC Canyon 2.9 Vortec 77,504mi on vehicle
About 2.5k miles on oil

Last couple UOA’s came back with high silicone & high iron wear. Replaced air filter, took air inlet tubing apart to try to find leak & reassembled.

Decided I’m not going to refill with HPL until the dirt intrusion is found & fixed so I’ll be sampling & changing frequently to keep dirt out of the system/minimized.

Out: HPL PCMO 5/30 & Fram FE3506

In: Delo 400 XSP 5/40 & an old Napa Gold filter I found in the toolbox.

Also did a 5qt “oil flush” with some old 5/30 prior to filling with the Delo. After draining the HPL, filled with a cheap SN+ 5/30, ran for 5min, shut down & changed to the Delo.

Didn’t see the Delo XSP in either of the VOA threads so decided to take a sample with my UOA I’m sending off. Will update in that forum when I get the results.

2016 Toyota Camry 2.5L 4 cyl- 150,870 miles on car. OCI: 3000 miles (this one’s early for convenience)

Out: Valvoline Full Synthetic Advanced 0W-20 and Wix Filter
In: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30 (2 quarts) and 2.6 quarts Mobil 1 5w-30. New Wix filter

switching over to 5w-30 to see how it likes it

2023 Honda Civic Touring Sedan 1.5t 20,540 miles
About 2,700 on oil

My Technician had time in his schedule and I'm having eye surgery next week followed by an unknown number of appointments, figured better early than late with a DI engine with a known record of oil dilution.
Technician told me oil was dark but no real fuel smell. Stopped obsessing with UOA's, just change more often. Like the car, gets decent mileage, never uses oil.
