Post your latest oil change

Finally used up the last of my Total oil stash I picked up on clearance from Advance Auto the other year. 8 quarts of that + 2 quarts of HPL EC30 in the 2019 Mustang GT. The car only has 60k miles on it but I figured why not let’s throw some EC in there and see if anything interesting shows up in the filter.

2002 Dodge Dakota 2WD, 3.9 v-6


2k~ oci with rotella T5 10w30 clearance deal rom Wal Mart and MO-090 MOPAR filter were removed.

In/on: OG ULTRA XG-16 filter and 4 quarts HPL 5w30 CK-4

something I learned: a ph-8A will NOT fit on this era truck period. It hits the cradle/frame. So now I have 3 OG ULTRA’s for free to anyone that wants them and Prime Guard POF-1A.


Oil had 1 quart HPL 5w20 NO VII also. Oil was blacker than black. Filter autopsy coming soon.

I take it that with a 2K OCI there was some active cleaning going on ? Will be curious how the new fill of HPI 5W30 works out for the Dakota with more cleaning expected.

Misc.: Replaced drain plug crush washer with Nissan 11026-JA00A crush washer.
Transfer Case: Changed the transfer case fluid with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF.

Inlaws Lof on a 2019 jeep Cherokee trail hawk edition. 3.4 pentastar v6. Way way over on oci. 81,444 on The OD. Out: Pennzoil platinum full synthetic 5w-20 with prime guard filter. In: same. Normal oci on this is 5k. It's been 8k since last service. I prefer 5k intervals at the most.

FWIW, I regularly go 8k to 9.5K on my wife's T&C with the 3.6L Pentastar. Last change was posted a few pages ago in this thread. I post the UOA when I get it back as well. The van has 105k on it.

To each their own. I prefer 5k oci. I could go on and on with why I feel like that with 30 years as an Auto tech and things I have seen. Go with whatever makes you feel comfortable.
