Post your latest oil change

What is the point of posting oil changes? Seems silly.

This was the longest I've gone on an oil change with this vehicle. That wasn't intentional; I had to take an unexpected 2000 mile road trip last week. Normally I don't exceed 4000 Miles. Oil life monitor read 48 percent so I'm not worried, although given the age of the engine, I usually just do 4000 no matter what the OLM says.

~5000 miles on change 219733 on vehicle, OLM was 42%
out: supertech hmfs 5w30, fram ultra 10060, will c&p this week
in: 5qt valvoline EPHM 5w30 2qt supertech hmfs 5w30, microguard select 57060. I had a partial 5qt jug of the supertech laying around, so used it for the extra instead of opening another 5qt valvoline jug.

This is my first time using a PG made filter. Book calls for 6qt but it took an extra qt to get it to the top of the fill mark on the stick. I put 6 in and started for a minute to get oil pressure then shut off for a few minutes and was at the bottom of the fill mark so added another qt to get it to the top. It's my GFs car and she doesn't ever check anything, or even really know how or care to learn how. We also live 2 hours apart rn too, so not like I can check it more than weekly when we see each other. She bought it last spring/summer, this is only the second change I've done on it, but hasn't used any oil that I've ever noticed. Once we have a place together and I can check things out whenever. I plan to start using VRP in it, but I don't feel comfortable not knowing the condition of the internals yet and using an oil that is designed to clean without being able to keep a close eye on it at least for the first couple changes.

Son’s 2021 Bronco Sport 2.0L. 122,174 miles, approx 7,000 OCI.

Out - PP 5w30, FL-910S filter.
In - SuperTech 5w30 syn, FL-910S filter.

Daughter’s 2024 Bronco 2.3L. 15,636 miles, 8,350 OCI. She neglected to tell me it was past the 5,000 OCI I prefer on these turbo engines.

Out - Dealer bulk, supposedly 5w30 Motorcraft syn blend, FL-910S filter.
In - SuperTech 5w30 syn, FL-910S filter.

Ford went out of their way to hide the filter on her Bronco.

Interesting that my 2021 Explorer 2.3L dilutes the oil quickly, but the son’s and daughter’s turbos don’t.

Using up my stash of FL-910S filters from two cases i bought a couple years ago. Guess I will switch filter brand when these run out based on the glue problems being reported on the newer Motorcrafts.

2021 Kia Sedona 8-speed 3.3L
ODO: 89,342 mi
Consumed: 0 qt
Top up: 0 qt

Miles on oil: 89,342 - 85,694 = 3,648
Estimated hours on OCI: 3,648 / 30 = 122
Out: 5.5 qts dealer's 5w-30 syn api SP
In: 4 qts 10w-30 HPL CK-4 + 1.5 qts blend (4qt 5w-40 Delo XSP + 5 qt 15w-40 Delo SDE + 1 qt JTO)

Off: N/A
Estimated hours on filter: 122
Miles on filter: 3,648
On: N/A round 2

Taking the dealer filter 100 hours more on this blend, then swapping it out. should be around 1.5 qts retained of the dealer oil.

Can't remember, but it seems like the last change was in early '21! Mid '23 to mid '24 was a very bad time for me, but I feel like I changed it after '21. Hmmm. Would have been a good one to test if it really did go that long...can't afford it right now. I know I did the 5.0 last year so I'm good there.

Have you ever cut any of those FL-910S open to see what they are doing? Think the glue thing started around a couple years ago.

Probably more than due for a t-belt service and needs alignment.

This was my folks last car; when the passed I gave it to an old friend, a single Mom. Has served her well.

I bought it when it was on an Amazon glitch for 2 bucks a quart.
