Post your latest oil change

2008 Chrysler T&C 3.8 V6 81,000 miles

Oil was in there for 18 months but only 1000 miles, it smelled a little gassy but looked fine. Infrequently driven short tripped vehicle.

Out: Mobil 1 Euro 0W40 STP 3614 blue filter.
In: Mobil 1 Euro 0W40 Supertech 3614 filter.

I have a busy next couple of weeks, today I had a day off so did three oil changes to get them done. I’d rather have them done early than overdue… plus it wasn’t snowing so there’s that too lol. It was brutally cold however.

2008 Crown Vic: 2,752 miles and 7 idle hours on this OCI. (Ford says 1 idle hour = 33 “miles”)

Out: Havoline and Fram Force FF2
In: Havoline and Fram TG2

The second was a Coleman CT200U mini-bike that my Uncle got around Halloween as a non-running basket case. He got it going and gave it to my kids for Christmas. It’s still missing fenders and other odds and ends, but it goes and more importantly stops lol. It’s a 2021 and I don’t think the oil has ever been changed. We had to get a breaker bar on the drain plug. My 12 year old son was horrified at the “oil” that drained out. I felt bad for the poor thing.

Out: Super Sludge-O unknown *** oil
In: Mobil 5000 10w30

Third was my generator, this was the third oil change since new. We were without power a couple weeks ago for a few days so it got a workout. Just normal maintenance to keep my OCD in check.

Out: I don’t remember
In: Mobil 5000 10w30

Walmart? I've got a jug of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 going back to Walmart because the seal was half opened. Seems to be a Walmart thing.
The one good thing about Super Tech oil is it's the most tamper resistant 5 quart jugs I've ever seen. 2 layer spot cover: Clingy plastic + paper foil. It's not possible to reseal it. That is one reason I only use SuperTech High Mileage Full Synthetic oil.

Mobil 1 is similar. I returned the one that had the paper foil for a refund. They argued with me a little bit but I had the receipt and history of MANY Mobil 1 purchases in the past on the app. They finally relented. They said they normally cannot take oil for return. I told them they apparently had done exactly that with this jug. I also told them I'm unscrewing the cap on every jug I buy from now on to make sure it has not seen tampering. They just started at me. Then gave me the refund. Lol.

That’s why I like both Mobil 1 and Castrol. 5 quart jugs all have a foil seal after the plastic cap is cracked/twisted off. I think all manufacturers should do this and instill some confidence. The exception is Liqui-Moly because ..well. It has the best **** pour spout in the business.

I made a small investment in Exacto knife and metal funnel (from Amazon) with grated filter so I can be sure the spout protection never falls into the oil container and gets poured into the engine. This way I can safely remove the spout protection.
