5W30 Valvoline Maxlife High Mileage Full Syn, but next time I'm going with Maxlife synblend 5W30 or 10W30 or maybe Penzoil High Mileage Conventional.

I have a slight leak/drip using 5W30 full syn. So I might want to try something thicker and/or conventional next time.

I'm using a Baldwin oil filter. Baldwin (like Wix) offers good quality for fair price and Baldwin have the thickest/toughest can I've ever experienced in an oil filter. I like that when driving on gravel roads because no piece of flying gravel will ever puncture a Baldwin filter. I started using Baldwin back in my offroad Jeeping days.

Baldwin is very popular for mining, logging, and construction equipment and trucks and that's their bread and butter. Baldwin filters are designed to be tough enough for use offroad and on gravel roads where a stick or flying rock could hit an oil filter. A lesser filter could get punctured. Baldwin are tough. The quality is top notch for a medium price just like Wix price.

I went over my intended 4k mile OCI for this vehicle by accident, but that target is overly cautious anyway. No harm done.

The 10-year-old did most of the work for me this time around. :)

About 3,100 miles on oil, will go to 4,000 now
,
If you upgrade the oil filter, you can run 10k plus miles no problem. I run 95%highway miles so I can reach 15k miles.

My Sequoia needs front brakes done soon, now that I have winter vacation from college, I can pay attention to that now and get ‘em done this week maybe. I just finished the rears, about two weeks ago. I also have to see when dad’s Camry needs oil done, hopefully before spring semester starts lol. It sucks being the family “mechanic” at times 😂

2016 Subaru Outback 2.5, OCI 6 month / 5K (I usually go 6-7K but the weather was warmer, and had free time)

First time seeing the oil filter gasket separating from the canister....heard this can happen but first time actually seeing / experiencing..will stick with the usual WIX in the future

Addressed the Mazda 5 for 185,000 miles. It takes 5.3 quarts. Did it myself on the floor of the garage... that concrete was cooold.
Out 5 qt Kirkland 0w20 plus .3 qt somewhat thicker extras.
In 5 qt Penz Platinum 0w20 plus .3 qt slightly thicker extras with MicroGard Select filter prefilled (forgot last time).
As is now customary, I siphoned off the small power steering rez and refilled Amsoil SS ATF. Slow but steady will keep the PS fluid updated.
