Post your latest oil change

2023 RAV4 (Mom’s car)

10,000 KM total on the car so far, did an early oil change at 2,000 KM. Lots of stop and go for her as she favors main roads over the highways. Of course living in Toronto, traffic gets heavy and the weather gets to extremes through the year.

Out: PP 0w16, Toyota filter
In: M1 0w16, Toyota filter

2014 Subaru Forester 6MT 2.5L NA
ODO: 126,831
Consumed: ~1.6 qt
Top up: ~1.5 qt

Miles on oil: 126,831 - 121,000 = 5,831
Estimated hours on OCI: 5,831/25 = 233
Out: 5.0 qts leftover blend
In: 5.0 qts leftover ~15w-30

Off: N/A
Estimated hours on filter: 121 + 233 = 354
Miles on filter: 3,639 + 5,831 = 9,470
On: N/A; XG7317 round 3

Replaced the CV axle, and replaced the passenger rear wheel bearing back in the spring. Unhooked the catch can and installed the new, much larger PCV that mates to a 5/8" hose back at the end of October under mt23's advise. Not sure yet if it is helping or not. I can tell that there is a noticeable amount of oil loss through cam carrier seal leakage, and will have to do that repair at some point. It is leaking on both passenger and driver's side. The appreciation is waning.
2014 Subaru Forester 6MT 2.5L NA
ODO: 134,546
Consumed: ~2.6 qt
Top up: ~2.3 qt

Miles on oil: 134,546 - 126,831 = 7,715
Estimated hours on OCI: 7,715 / 28 = 275
Out: 5.0 qts leftover blend
In: 5.0 qts leftover ~15w-30

Off: XG7317
Estimated hours on filter: 121 + 233 + 275 = 629
Miles on filter: 3,639 + 5,831 +7,715= 17,185
On: MP6607

Replaced the passenger front wheel bearing in January. The consumption and loss rate has been about the same. O2 sensors and front struts need to be replaced soon. Took this guy on a ski trip to Colorado last winter--drove awesome all the way up Loveland pass in a snow storm on the way in, and through all the snow on Hoosier pass on the way out. Definitely a love-hate relationship, but if I can keep using it for trips like that, I might keep it.

2011 Silverado with HD offroad and tow package, AFM active. 528,796 miles (original engine).
SupraTech 5W30 (usually that, or Mobil 1) and Bestline additive (used latter since approximately 200,000 miles), WIX filter.
Always change it hot, always treat any "breach" of engine interior practically like a surgical field.

It's been across the country 5 times, I've had it up to around 12,000 feet in the White/Inyo range, I drive it for work (Geologist/Construction special inspector) and often enough the changes are about every 6-8 weeks in frequency.

What's bestline additive? I ask instead of googling because you made it a point to say how long you've been using so I hope you can share some insights beyond products information and reviews

2024 Toyota Tundra 4900 miles

Out Amsoil SS 0W20 factory filter
In M1EP 0W20 BG MOA factory filter.

From here on out I’ll be doing 5K intervals. I’ll be using M1EP and MOA. Toyota will do 10K and I’ll add the MOA.

Changed the factory fill at 1700 miles.

Headed to Tail of The Dragon in a couple of weeks so changed out oil a little early.
Your listed Location is..... well...... not shown here.
So Mr. Samurai! Will you be driving there from Japan?
My recently departed dog <<<<< says you are welcome to use the Atlantic Rainbow Bridge. The Pacific bridge is down this year, due to new construction.

You put in Asmoil SS at 1700 miles and dumped it at 4900?

I get the merits of a short OCI, but why use Amsoil if that's your plan? And it's not like your truck is burning oil or anything like my 2017 Sonata was when I tried Amsoil SS. I used it in a vain attempt to combat the oil consumption and it didn't work, so I wasn't about to stick with it. I think I changed it 4000 miles later, after the Sonata consumed another (the rest of) three qts of the stuff (I bought two gallons, had a 5 qt system) and then some QSUP too.

2018 Toyota Prius Prime 67,022KM

Out Castrol Edge EP 0W-20 and a Toyota YZZN1
In Mobil 1 Hybrid 0W-20 and a Toyota YZZN1

This was 2 weeks early for the 6 month mark. It was nice weather and had to monopolize on it. Beyond the 5 1/2 months the oil was run for 5035KM of the 8990KM I put on the odometer this interval.

44% of 8990 is 3955KM pure EV driving.

I bought this jug of oil down in the USA summer of 2023. Canada doesn’t have this offering up here.

Oil sample is being sent off for analysis from the Castrol Edge EP change. Next change tentatively scheduled April 1st.

I’m initial plan was to use Amsoil SS. Since I’m doing 5K intervals I wanted something close to what Toyota uses. Assuming they’re using Toyota brand Mobil. I know it was a waste.

If you're in the US of A give the new Valvoline Restore and Protect a spin. A long ass time ago, my 1993 Civic used to really like Valvoline Max Life Syn-Power.. might not exist anymore..
That might he a good one! In a little while. have to see if my local store carries it. I might be "No more oil for me" in an OA kind of environment soon. One is too many and a thousand is not enough.
