Post your latest oil change

Tell Mom the Cataracts Procedures are easy and painless. The only pain in the butt is all the eye drop applications needed for a quicker cure. Each eye requires a month-long of drops.

Make sure your Specialist prescribes drops that have all the medicines inside one squeeze drip bottle. My wife wasn't so lucky, months just prior to my procedures. She had to use three different drops four times per day for the first two weeks. Then twice a day for two more weeks. I only had to deal with one drop four times per day - then twice a day for two weeks..

Your engine bay is starting to mirror the same color as the oil jugs.....lol
Mine isn't looking much better and needs a good bath.

Thank you! Surgery went well, mom was nervous but they gave the good stuff. The dusty van navigated heavy traffic with its french oil. Next eye in a few weeks. I will pressure wash the engine bay soon, african dust was heavy on the horizon today.

2016 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0L Turbo GDI - 69,899 km

Out: Quaker State Full Synthetic 5w30, Wix 51334 oil filter, 1400 km OCI

In: 4.8L Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30, Hyundai 26300-35505 oil filter

Going on a roughly 8000 km road trip so I dumped the current fill 5000 km early to get fresh oil in for the whole 8000 km interval. Normally with a turbo GDI I change religiously at 6000 km / 3750 miles, but I think I’ll be ok summer driving at primarily highway travel for an 8000 km / 5000 mile interval

Wife's 2018 Durango V6 with 127,539 miles.

5034 mile OCI. A little early change, but we're taking the Durango when we go on vacation next week.

Out: Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage 5w30

In: Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage 5w30, kept the Fram Ultra OG wire backed cartridge filter in for another interval.

Rotated tires as well, used my tread depth gauge and the Michelin Defender LTX were measuring 9/32" or just a hair under with 64,000 miles on them. Rather surprised because all I do is rotate them regularly and keep the pressure at 36psi.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox
2.4 Ecotec 4 cylinder
Out: unknown oil, unknown cartridge filter
In: O'Reilly synthetic 5w30, AcDelco PF457G cartridge filter

2011 Buick Lucerne

Out: unknown oil, Ecogard filter
In: Castrol GTX High Mileage 5w30, AcDelco PF61E filter

2022 GMC Canyon AT4 V6, 30k miles, OLM was at 74%, unknown miles on the oci, replaced the OEM drain plug w a SS plug w a magnetic tip and copper washer. I’m not worried about the 10w30 not being D1g2
Out: Bulk dealer oil (most likely 5w30), AC delco filter

Last minute oci for my in-laws. 2018 CR-V 1.5T. 62.8k on car, don’t recall the mileage at last oil change. Didn’t have time to order Amsoil (as I did last time) so it got leftover oil & a Boss filter(as well as a new air filter).

Out: Amsoil SS 0/20 & Amsoil EA15k13 filter.

In: 1qt HPL EC30 & about 3qts PUP 5/30 with a Boss PBL14610(had an XG7317 on the shelf but my luck with the latest Fram XG’s hasn’t been good).

@Pablo

The Amsoil filter that came off has better construction than what I’ve been seeing as of late. The wire backing is metal & I had one heck of a time getting through it. Has metal crimp seam as well. I haven’t checked the date code yet(not memorized) & have a few other projects to get through today so will just post a pic here. I’ll likely start another thread in the filter section.

that is an OG ultra in an amsoil body. the ADBV, top cap, down to the metal mesh behind the media. maybe the OG ultra isn’t fully dead afterall…. what was the date code on this?

2018 Trd Off-road Tacoma 87945 miles about 8 thousand miles on the oil and filter and I last changed it last July.

Out 6 quarts Mobil 1 0w40 FS and a Mobil 1 EP filter

in 6 quarts Mobil 1 0w40 FS and a Mobil 1 EP filter

While I was under the truck to swap the filter while the oil was being sucked out I noticed my sway bar bushings need replaced. I will do that in the fall and may do a few other bushings, approaching a tire change next year and thinking about refreshing and upgrading some of the suspension. Truck is holding up great, normal wear for the use most people wouldn’t notice.

Son's newish 2010 Mazda 3 GS with 2L engine. 244 615km (sold 2008 Ford Focus as it was showing its age and breaking down often with minor things....window regulator, water pump, rad cap, AC, and thermostat within last 1 year, but overall, got my money's worth, owning it for past 7 years. Bought in for $3400 then and sold for $2500 now).
Out: unknown oil; filter Fram orange can PH3614
In: PP 0W20; filter Fram XG3614
Fortunately, both the Focus and M3 uses same oil filter, so using up old stash from Focus.

In: HPL Premium Plus 0W-20 D (yes, the bottle says Euro, but it is a part of their PP line), Fram FS12447 filter, PPE magnetic drain plug

I'm definitely doing a UOA on the HPL when it's time for another oil change.

Your speedometer is not set correctly (-2 MPH)
This could result in disgruntled drivers behind you, complaining you are driving too slow and save you on $$ and points, during speeding ticket write-ups.

buddy from school
2016 Volkswagen GTI Autobahn 88k miles
in service 2k miles

he is only able to get 2-2.5k miles before car tells him oil level is low. this is even after i changed it with Valvoline Euro 5w-40 the time prior.

3 hour hot Berrymans piston soak, new NGK ruthenium plugs (old ones had very little electrode left and about double the gap) BG EPR 109 flush for 20 minutes at 2500 RPM. told him that after this run (will top it off as needed of course using M1 0w-40) that we will be ordering some HPL euro 0w-40 for it. the oil filter had quite a few chunks of carbon in it, didn’t take pictures as i was in a hurry. also dumped a bottle of redline SI-1 in it and told him to fill up with premium and romp on it for that tank. hopefully i can get his oil burning issues resolved as he would like to start modifying it soon.

out/off: Take-5 bulk euro (hopefully) with made in china filter

in/on: 5 quarts M1 FS 0w-40 and 1 quart HPL EC40 with Carquest Premium 95154 (made in germany)
