Dad's car needed a tire rotation, so I said what the hell. Car doesn't even need to be jacked to do the OC. Castrol EP 5W20 was free and came from the Walmart glitch days. $6 for the filter on amazon. Cheapest OC ever.

2011 Ford Escape V6 w/66,142 miles. Did a needed oil (& tranny fluid) change, before the long move to Kingman, Arizona. OCI was approximately 4500 or so miles, all of which were driven in a 2 month span.

OUT: Mobil 1 5W-20 & unknown filter (Auto dealer changed before I bought the car.)
IN: Valvoline 5W-20 Maxlife FS & VO-88 filter

Transmission was changed with Maxlife ATF at the same time. Car runs and shifts much better.

Odometer reading: 57,293 miles
OCI: 4,502 miles
Oil Out: 8 quarts of Providence(Rural King house brand) 0w20
Oil Filter Out: AC Delco PF63
Oil In: 4 quarts of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 and 4 quarts of Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w20
Oil Filter In: Fram TG10575

No oil consumption whatsoever during entire run. About $25 for the oil thanks to the Mobil 1 rebate and $10 for the oil filter. $35 total for another 5000 mile run isn’t too shabby at all.

Car consumed about a pint at first, and QSUD HM 5w-30 replaced it's volume. It consumed about another pint before I decided that I would go the route of standardizing a flush as part of the OCI. If the car consumes a full quart, then that volume ought get replaced with 4102 and oil changed. If it does not consume that volume, then the oil will remain in the sump until the end of the OCI, which will be at most 120 hours before doing an ending flush. So, I decided that I would change it at 3k, and extracted half a quart of oil before putting in a quart (2 pints) of Rislone 4102. Drove that for 3.6 hours the next day before changing it. I was not able to extract all the oil, but I can't say that that is a problem. QSE should have a starting TBN of 12 (the mixture being ~11.5), and 70 hours on the oil should not be dragging that down much. This mix should still be good for 100 hours (ideally).

At this point, I've decided to come down to 15-20% max E85. Car does run smoother with at least this amount.

Car consumed 1 quart by 2000 miles. Consumption doesn't match rpm from what I can tell now. Topped up 20oz and kept on going. Used Lubegard engine flush prior to oil change. How would I describe the old oil? Hmm, well I poured it in the midday, bright sun, and I could barely see through it when it was a wispy drizzle. I would call that done. It was about as loaded as I have seen my old 2GRFE when it was at 8,000 miles on VML. While I was under, I noticed some oil weeping from the timing cover, which uses FIG. The valve cover gaskets also look like they are weeping, but they don't show any cracks while I was wiping it all away. I would be happy to say that the weeping was severe, as that's the better of two problems, but the weeping is not severe enough (in my investigative reasoning) to account for the missing quarts I get in the OCIs. I took the skidplate/splashpan off the bottom and there wasn't any oil visible on it (nor exhaust, or anywhere under the car). I don't know what the Redline may do to FIG at this state, hurt or help. I am anticipating that it will need to be replaced. It may go well with a pretty large service that includes a litany of things. I still like this car, but I wish it was a little bit more bulletproof. I don't know how long of an OCI I'll go at the moment.

2016 Toyota 4Runner: 33,378 miles, (3,342 miles on oil, 10,943 miles on filter (2 OCIs). The oil was in service from 7/2/20 to 3/17/21. The filter was in service from 3/13/19 to 3/17/21.

Out: NAPA 0w20, Toyota 04152-YZZA5 (2 OCIs)
In: 5 quarts of Valvoline modern engine 0w20 + 1.5 quarts of Napa full synthetic 0w20, Toyota 04152-YZZA5. I used a Toyota 90430-12028 crush gasket on the engine oil drain plug.
I drained the front and rear differential fluid (factory fill) and refilled with synthetic 75w90. The transfer case fluid looked really good through the fill hole so I left it alone for now. I had intended to only inspect the rear diff fluid and check the level, but the fluid looked pretty bad when I pulled the fill plug so I went ahead and changed it. The front diff looked much better than the rear but I went ahead and changed both while I was at it. I also sucked out the PS fluid reservoir and refilled it with Supertech Mercon V (calls for Dexron III). This is the first time the PS fluid has been touched on this car, I intend to evacuate and refill the PS reservoir at each oil change from now on.

The truck has 66,728 miles and 4,948.5 engine hours.

I went ahead and changed out that TP3012 fuel filter for the correct TP3018. The fuel filter life remaining was 79%.

I flushed the power steering/hydro boost with AutoZone PS fluid. I ran a gallon of fluid through and topped it off. I’ve been noticing a slight whine on turns at low speed, the PS fluid change seems to have resolved that for now. I have been extracting and refilling the reservoir at each oil change for the last few years but that only removes about 8oz of fluid at a time. View attachment 51473
