Do you drive the wt personally? Asking because I've seen very little feedback about the new 4.3 v6. We had one in the shop a few weeks ago but I didn't work on it, so I didn't get to road test it.

I had used 5w30 synthetic (in various) high mileage flavors in this car, forever (16 years!) but switched to 5w-20 this last change. Went from a half quart consumption over 6-8k Miles to nearly a full quart in 5k. Not happy. Switching back to 5w30 for this go-round. Hopefully it will keep the oil burning in check. Car got a complete work over (plugs/coils, PCV, MAF, cleaned TB, new belt, radiator hoses, fuel filter, IAC, and every fluid in the car down to brake fluid bleed/flush) this last oil change timeframe.
