Next one will use Penzoil Platinum 0w-20 picked up with rebate , and Fram EG 7317 got with rebate.

So how was that QSUD for you and how much top off oil did you have to use for your OIC?

2013 Optima 2.4L. 2.5 qts PUP 10w-30 and 2.5 qts PP 5w-40. With 3.5 to 4% fuel dilution it requires thicker oil. If you have a theta 2 engine you need to get a oil analysis with gas chromatography.

Changed the oil in my gf’s 2002 Honda Odyssey. It has 212,000 miles.

Out: two and a half quarts of some thick and nasty sludge

In: Quaker State high mileage 5w30 and a NAPA gold filter.

Also changed spark plugs, air filter, and PCV valve while the oil was dripping.

Not bad for an hour’s work.

2009 Cobalt
Out: Not mine so who knows
In: GTX 5w30 and a Tough Guard filter (cartridge type)

It was fun teaching my friend how to change her oil. The oil life monitor had 3% left and I told her to let me know what it is at at 5000km.

Out came 2.5 quarts? So it was two quarts low? Oh no.

My Tacoma

Out: German Castrol 0W-40 and Fram Ultra with 8,391 miles on both.
In: Mobil 1 AFE 0W-30 and a Tough Guard.

I had originally planned to go a full 10k on the Castrol but the oil change itch got too strong and I couldn't hold myself back this morning! Especially having bought some oil last weekend and having a stash of TG filters next to my chair from the TSC clearance a few months back. Planning to cut the old filter open as soon as my filter cutter comes in.
