Drained Mobil 1 5W30 with about 4650 miles, removed blue Subie oil filter
Filled with Mobil 1 5W30 and a smidgen of Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5W30 to top off, used NAPA Gold 7055 filter (same as Wix 57055 which I have found for about $2 cheaper at O'Reilly's)

I thought the EP oil slowed down the consumption but it did not. Over the 9995m it used 1.5 qts of oil. Before with the Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w20 and 7500m oci it used one qt.

Yes I got some larger copper flakes out that must have been sitting for some time.

I really want to do a idle flush with some cheap dino, but not sure how much I'm comfortable with wasting time do this. I'm estimating 3 quarts of fresh oil while idling should be sufficient since it's a 4.5 quart system capacity and I would be leaving the filter on during such a flush. I don't think I'd like to risk it with only 2 quarts but I'm betting it would be fine.

I also took a sample for a used oil analysis I'm tracking high lead/copper wear, but since my wifes been driving it I don't see any fine copper glitter in the drain anymore...I'm starting to believe my driving style is to blame for the high wear.

IN: 4 qts. Mag1 5w40 All-Fleet

FL400s filter not changed.

I drained the oil to change the sump plate gasket due to a significant leak. Decided to just put in new oil and use up the remaining gallon of Mag1 I had.

The Delo was horrible looking, very black and cruddy. I'll do a used oil analysis if I can scrape up $16.00 for a kit from NAPA.

Sent in a sample to Blackstone labs.
TBN left in oil-9.3
They said the next oil run should be 8,000 miles.
This was due to wear levels at 6,110 miles were in line with the universal average of 3,300 mile oil run. Soot level was at 0.9. Mercedes says not to go over 2.0% so this was less than half of that. That being said 12,000 miles should be able to run. Not a bad oil run!
