A friends 1997 Ford F-150. At some point the original engine died, and the previous owner swapped in a 2004 4.6 2V engine. The filter adapter was completely different from any 1997 or 2004 4.6 that I ever saw. Instead of using a Motorcraft 820, it used a Motorcraft FL-500S.
Anyway, old oil, unknown miles, unknown type, generic filter
New oil, Delo 10w30 synblend, MC-500S filter

the 820s and 500s have the same metric threads and I hear can be interchangeable but i believe the pressure specs are a bit different.
2001 Accord 4 cyl 267K miles. 4500 miles on 0W20 Subaru oil. It was going through this pretty fast, likely needs valve stem seals. I debated to add or change when it got to a quart low. I'd already topped it of 3 times during this fill. Using about a quart in 1500 miles. I think it was consuming more of the 0W20 Subaru oil than what it normally uses.
I have a small concern since I learned Honda hasn't back spec this engine to use 0W20, but since it is high miles and was going through it, I decided to up the visc for summer change. It was over a quart low so I used the oil change pump and sucked it out the dipstick tube. Used a leaky 5 quart jug remains of Dexos 5W30 Mobil 1 and a quart of 0W20 TGMO to bring it to full. Reused the Fram Ultra filter.
New '14 F150 reg cab with 3.7 V6, factory fill changed at 2500mi, PYB in until 7500, just swapped it out for Valvoline Durablend 5w20. All instances were using MC FL500s filter, plan on leaving it for another 7500..smoothest oil by far for what it's worth.
I did two Saturday
