Post your latest oil change

22' BRZ first change @ 2,986 miles. Castrol Edge 0w20 + Subaru Roki filter.

Nice and easy. Love the top mount filter + access panel below for the drain.

In what vehicle did you get that one? I thought they were done with them after the 2020 Santa Fe (2019 Sonata). I had one in the 2018 Santa Fe Sport we traded back in March for my wife's Jeep. I ran Castrol Edge 0W-40 in it (once Mobil 1 0W-40). It ran fine, but once when I change the oil, I found a thin wire looking like a piece of metal on my magnetic drain plug. That was kind of chilling. After that, I put neodymium magnets on the oil filter as well.

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 3.6 V6 engine
About 5600 miles on the oil (I usually wait until about 6K but we have a road trip coming up)
Out: Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20, Mopar MO-349 filter
In: Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20, K&N 7026 filter
I also changed the air filter (Supertech 3310)

They still used them in the higher trim 2021 Tucson. 2022 uses the new 2.5L. I think the Theta II has finally been retired. Good riddance.

IIRC it was a modified Mitsubishi design (way back when) that they modified again to add direct injection.
It was part of that Global Engine Alliance with Chrysler and Mitsubishi. From what I read on it (not much) the initial design was Hyundai’s. Chrysler called their version of the 2.4L “tiger shark”.

Kia Sportage up and including the 2022 model year had the 2.4/2.0T. Pretty sure Stinger had ThetaII 2.0T in 2021 and Genesis still uses the 2.0T still.

Went to parents house and changed both their vehicles this weekend

Dad's
2014 Silverado 5.3, ~94k mi. OLM 0%

2014 Acura RDX 3.5, ~133k mi. OLM 15% (A1 service due)
Out: Also PPHM 0w-20 (I think), Fram OCOD 7317
In: Mobil 1 HM 5w-20, M1 110A Filter

My 2012 F150 3.7 Cyclone V6
210,403 miles
5,736 miles on oil and filter

Sent a sample to Blackstone, first uoa since I bought this truck 2 years ago with 152k on it. If the Blackstone report comes out ok Ill stretch it to 7k oci.

5,736 miles is the longest Ive ever gone on an oil change, was hard to do….31 years old but I’m very old school 😂😂

2022 Maverick 2.0 EcoBoost (Mom's Car)

First oil change, 4800 and some change on the clock. (Bought the truck and immediately left for AZ and back) OLM was reading 60%

Out - Whatever Ford put in it at the factory, and a black and white FoMoCo filter. No glitter in the pan, nothing of note in the filter.

In - Havoline HM 5W30 and a Wix 51348 Filter

There are going to be a lot of Mavericks running around in a few years either missing the underbody tray or lots of bolts. Ford didn't use the best fastener inserts under the truck when they put them in. I suspect they are going to start stripping out pretty easy when people start slamming the T20's back in with their little impact guns.

Also shocking. I was actually able to get a factory installed filter off with my hands. Good thing as I didn't have a wrench that would fit.

Yes, I'm using HM oil. You can still buy 2 boxes for $32 from Wal-Mart, and the LifeLong 5W30 has been hard to get lately. Still meets all the specs, so that's what everything around here will be getting for a while.

2016 Ford Focus S 5sp Manual 2.0LVCT 114,876 miles
Out: Shell Rotella Gas 5W-20 and Rislone Nanoprime @ 3100 miles (used STP fuel induction cleaner prior to change, removing any possible contamination).

In: Mobil 1 AP 5W-30 (4 qts.) and 1 qt. of AP 0W-20.
Reinstalled Purolator Boss filter after dumping it...

Changed manual gearbox oil using Ravenol MTF-3 75W (shifts like butta!)...

*Is 5W40 shown in the owners manual as an acceptable oil grade ? ... In my 2017 2.4L GDI , I run a 5W330 synthetic with a CsT in the 10 ~ 11 range as 5W30 / 10W30 are sshown in the OM as approved - thus I go with the thicker allowed 5W30 synthetics (i.e. QSUD , M1 or Valvoline Advanced / EP) .

I don't care for what is or isn't acceptable when coming from an automaker's clueless EPA/CAFE whipped techwriter or marketing department. I also run high HTHS Euro 5w30's for the cold winters. Euro oils aren't acceptable either. My engine's spec'd main bearing oil clearances are big enough for 40 grades in my climate and average oil temps. The reputation of the engine speaks for itself. I'll run it on MOFT and not worry about the manual at all. And, I'll run whatever filter I want. My engine my oil! Plus, a little shearing and some fuel... its already a 30 grade.
