Post your latest oil change

What's the signature?
Sorry for the late response. The signature is from the tech that changed the timing belt at RM Motor Werks in Knoxville, TN a few months before I purchased the vehicle. The previous owner had them do quite a bit of work. Everything they did was top-notch!

Wow .... Kendall GT1 Turbo Nitro 70, that’s a SAE 70 monograde with 2600 ppm Zinc, TBN of 11 and a viscosity KV100 = 32 cSt.

They say it’s made for “Nitromethane- and alcohol- fueled competition engines”.

Is this a race / drag truck or something?

good catch.

People that want to “add to/stabilize” their oil should be dumping a quart of that in their sumps instead of Lucas oil stabilizer. ‘Kendall viscosity enhancer’ ‘with zinctek’

Yep, 4 quarts of your regular ILSAC 0W20 and 1 quart of Kendall GT1 Turbo Nitro 70 to add a bit of meat to the bones.

Yes and a work/beat around truck. If it last until winter I'll probably change the 70wt out for 20w50 or a mix of 20w50 and 70. Aim for an estimated 25w60. Or put a pan heater on it. Or not drive it when its cold haha.
I’ve got an irrational fondness for Kendall motor oil. Thinking of buying a case of their endurance, even if it’s a little more expensive than maxlife. Idk, I think it’s the look of the bottles I like.

This Kendall is old stock, from the Witco era when Kendall and Amalie were produced at the Bradford refinery in Bradford Pennsylvania. At that time I believe all viscosities of GT1 used 1300-1400 rpm of zinc. It's a very heavy, sweet smelling green syrup made from group 1 Pennsylvania base oil.

Miles on oil is unknown. Didn't keep records on my last oil change 😔, so getting back on track with this oil change. Likely <5k miles.

If you have any other vintage oil PM me. I'd like to know about it. Might be interested in buying some.
I have some vintage 10w40 Exxon Superflo, 10w40 Shell Formula, 10w40 Citgo Supergard and 10w30 Pennzoil Platinum. Age ranging from approximately 15-25+ years old. I'm running the Exxon Superflo in my '97 Ford Escort station wagon, Shell Formula in the '02 Escort SE and Citgo Supergard in the my '17 Versa. So far I haven't used any of the Pennzoil Platinum.

These days the closest thing to the original Kendall is Driven's GP-1. Its blended at the Bradford refinery by American Refining Group, who formerly produced and owned the Brad Penn brand.
