Post your latest oil change

2014 Subaru Forester 6MT 2.5L NA
ODO: 82,570

Estimated hours on oil: ~92
Miles on oil: 78,420 - 82570 = 4,150
Out: 1 pt rislone high mileage concentrate + 5qt Mobil 1 0w-40 Euro
In: 5 qt Delo XLE 15w-40

Off: N/A round 2 for XG7317
Estimated hours on filter: ~92
Miles on filter: 4,150
On: N/A round 2 for XG7317

For the trailing oil: Indiscernible consumption during low RPM driving (71mph cap, 2.7k rpm cap). I tested driving above 3k rpm (3-4k rpm) for getting up to cruising speed from a stop 3 times. Upon getting to work and checking dipstick, It read a lower level. I added 1 pt rislone high mileage concentrate to the sump 200 miles before the change (almost 2x concentrate for high cleaning).

Changed the oil saturday evening, started up the car and moved it. Sunday morning, I decided to pull the MAP sensor since it is in close proximity to the PCV to intake manifold inlet. Sure enough, it was very oily; spray cleaned the sensor and port with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. Took some extra turning over to start. Hasn't struggled to start since then. Bluetooth OBDII now shows cruising (70mph) MAP at ~20ish inHg. Idle is reading fairly low,

Estimated hours on oil: 5,079/45 = 113
Miles on oil: 87,649 - 82,570 = 5,079
Out: 4.5 qt Delo XLE 15w-40 (middle of dipstick)
In: 5 qt Quaker State Euro 5w-40 (just under top marker of dipstick)

Off: XG7317
Estimated hours on filter: 92 + 113 = 205
Miles on filter: 4,150 + 5,079 = 9,229
On: XG7317

Still consumes if I drive over 3k rpm (technically 2.9k rpm; it'll consume slowly if I drive 75mph  )
As much as I try to not let it drive too high, I still got consumption on those instances. Had to make up about 10 oz.

I added a catch can--its a clear polymer type, with a bottom drain screw. The screw weeps oil, so it is difficult to determine how much accumulated over the OCI, maybe 3 oz? The accumulation rate in it does not correlate to significant drops in level during daily checks of my dipstick. Its definitely odd to me, but I'm very confident. Best I can reconcile is that the accumulation in the catch can is unburnt blow-by.

I've switched to splash blending E85 midway through this OCI. I wanted the clean burning benefits of ethanol, and since I go through a whole tank in under 3 days, there's little chance of corrosion due to water pickup. I started with blending a little in at a time to slowly increase the fuel trims and not set off any lean-running codes prematurely. I finally tripped the code at a 25% fuel trim. That was when running over 50% E85, so I've backed down to 50% E85 so as to not ask of it more trim than it can give. I put Gumout Regane in the tank just prior to this change. If all goes well, this would be another step towards cleaning rings in a way that doesn't involve removing the engine.

I'm very grateful that my consumption has come down as much as it has. So far, the things that have correlated the most to the consumption actually reducing has been the double-dosing of Rislone. Thick oil is burning the least during cruising and I figure that at 3k RPM the PCV valve can't keep up and the excess crankcase pressure from blow-by is pushing the oil past the rings of the other cylinders.

Changed the oil in the Cruze today. I even had the blackstone container sitting about 6 ft in front of the car. Unfortunately I forgot about it until I saw it sitting there as I pulled the drain plug. Maybe in my youth I could have slid over and grabbed it but not at 60 yrs old with many second helpings onboard.

Second oil change since buying this car. Took out PP with a parts master filter, replace with Providence (Rural king) full syn and a Hastings filter ($12 all in)

Out: Dealer oil PUP maybe? 0w20 and Mopar Filter
In: 5.9 quarts of Pennzoil Full Synthetic 0w20 and Mopar Filter
OCI: 5,700 miles and about 8 months.

First time changing the oil on this as it came with 2 free oil changes at the dealer when we bought it CPO back in 2019. Was surprised it took 5.9 quarts to get just under the full line. I must have drained it well!

OUT/IN: 6 qts. Valvoline 0W-20 ...silver jug..Walmart..Fram brand filter
13mm oil drain plug seems small for such a butch vehicle.
15/16" can't be the size of the housing's top nut.

2015 Lincoln MKC - 2.3L @65,877. This oci had 3,400 miles. I cut it short because I had a fuel induction service performed Friday. Plan on running this combo for 5,000 mile ocis…

out - Magnetec 5w-30 and Wix filter - This oil looked really rough for only 3,400 miles, prolly because of the induction service…
in - Kirkland 5w-30 FS and Motorcraft FL 910s
Go birds!

1st post on BITOG, figured this is a good place to start.
I changed the oil in my wife’s 2020 Traverse yesterday. NAPA 5w-30 synthetic in and out. Updated AC Delco PF63 on to replace the PF63E that came off. 5000 miles on the oil, 10000 on the car. I sent a oil sample off to blackstone. I’ll post on the UOA when I get the results. I’ll be interested to cut open the new/ updated PF63 when I change it out in 5000 miles.

Out: Unknown dealership oil & filter.
In: M1 5w30, Fram Ultra filter

First oil change on car that's new to me. The oil coming out looked clean, but thin, so maybe a xw20?
Good thing I changed the filter; the cap was barely more than finger tight, and there were two o-rings on it.
