Post your latest oil change

Just another boring dump of Rotella T6 5w40 out of the EcoDiesel... and pouring 11 quarts back in with a new filter.

Mileage: 119,994

Here we go for another 10k miles......

Truck just came out of the shop getting a new EGR (recall work) and the truck is running like a top, spinning smooth and long. 200k here we come!

I did not know they had a fix for the EGR... Good to know.

I think GTX Diesel is only CK-4 with no S rating
Yeah I see it’s been reformulated

It was API CJ-4 / SN, now it’s API CK-4 and ACEA E9

Probably because it’s still rich in ZDDP, this VOA shows 1155ppm Zinc

I‘m sure it will still meet API SL or SN in terms of quality and performance in a spark engine, there just seems resistance to do that now days when it exceeds the chemical limits.

I would still happily use it in an older petrol (gas) engine, but I agree with you, it’s no longer technically a “mixed-fleet” oil.

Trying to see if I can get the oil pan gasket to stop it's very, very slow leak. I don't drive this truck a lot, oil was a lot darker than I would have expected for the miles on it. I've not had this truck a year yet, put less than 2k miles on it and I've changed the oil 3 times just to try to clean whatever gunk might be in the engine. Last oil change I had Valvoline 5W-30 Syn and after 900 miles it was almost black.

When the weather is right … that engine would run great on a 15w40 … that could slow the leak a bit more … and they keep things clean. Delvac and Delo have pretty good Noack as they are pretty much a semi synthetic these days …

I'll be honest, my inexperience working on vehicles, putting something that drastically different my vehicles scares the crap out of me.

I've found M1 HM 5/30 to be a good cleaner.
