Ooof, apparently forgot to put the previous RAM one in here:

2019 RAM 1500 Sport (DT):

May 4th, 2020:
- Out: Mobil 1 EP 0w-20, FRAM XG10060
- In: Mobil 1 EP 0w-20, FRAM XG2
Mileage: 25,655Km
OCI: 10,474Km

January 6th, 2021:
- Out: Mobil 1 EP 0w-20, FRAM XG2
- In: Mobil 1 EP 0w-20, FRAM XG2
Mileage: 37,328Km
OCI: 11,673Km (OLM @ 1%)
So your OLM goes down to zero after 11-12K Km? Interesting that in the US is 10K miles on the same engine.

2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 3.6L V6

OCI = 5,000 miles

Out:
Rotella Gas Truck 0W-20/5W-30 SN+ (60/40) 9.6 cSt

In:
Rotella Gas Truck 0W-20/5W-30 SN+ (60/40) 9.6 cSt

FRAM Ultra XG11665 was not changed (20K FCI; currently at 5K)

Not concerned. Ford uses turbos across the board...some twin turbo. MC 5w30 SB seems to be working just fine for them. Plus, I'm not going to go the recommended 10k miles on an OCI either.
How many miles you planning on going ? 5k ? Getting a UOA ?

It‘s your car to run what you want. Keep us informed of how it goes I would be interested to hear more.

5k and maybe a UOA
Drove about 200 miles this weekend through the Everglades and experienced nothing untoward.

What is the VW spec ?
VW 504 / 507 a ACEA C3 5W30 or
VW 508 / 509 a fuel economy 0W20 oil.

I‘m sure it went fine for your drive. I use to think that Euro cars only ran on thicker A3/B4 or C3 oil in 5W30 or xW40, but recently many have brought out thinner fuel economy oils. I now think the issue is to keep an eye on the oil, and not push the miles beyond the oil’s ability.

Motorcraft synblend has always impressed me when I have seen a VOA or UOA.

I’m enjoying what you are doing.

0W-20, VW508.00 is the approval.

Before this Passat, I thought all vw used a 3.5 hths oil conforming to vw approvals. But like you've said...things have changed concerning viscosity. On many of the VW/Audi chat boards, quite a few members who once swore by sticking with approval for your car mantra are now running 502 or 504 in their GTi/A4 etc when these cars (newer one's) now recommend 0W-20 508. So I'll probably hear..."yeah but at least it's a vw spec". lol.
I seriously doubt I'd go 10k on any oil (my preference), but 5-7k? Sure.

Comments: VME 5w30 really quieted the engine down immediately. The Fram 3593A series filter fits perfectly in place of the 9688 series filter, hat tip to @TheBig2003 for the recommendation 🎩

OK. I agree that MC 5w-30 is a good oil overall, and for a 5,000 mile interval should be just fine.

I did not know VW had gone thin as well.
