I typoed the Davco. It's a 382. It's a clear bowl type fuel filter / water separator so as the filter element gets dirty the level just rises to flow through clean filter. Restriction stays the same until it gets to the top of the element and only after that starts to rise. So you can tell visually when it's time to change. They usually last the full 30,000 mi and are at about 60-75% at service interval but I keep everyone with a spare so they can change it therself. Only takes a couple of minutes and driver's hate it when a truck won't pull (so I don't have to worry about them hurting the pump).

You gotta be kidding! I could see if it was at least a name brand synthetic and premium oil filter. Obviously the air filter markup is outrageous.

Exactly! She thought maybe it would be cheaper, since they do lots of oil changes for that area. Told her they up the price, because they know people like her don't know any better. She's learned her mistake. ☺

In: Quaker State Syn 5-30 and Hyundai OEM filter

With the Valvoline and Liqui Moly my gas mileage dropped and oil consumption considerably higher. Going to stick with my long time friend QSUD that I have used for years.

Are you experimenting with finding a preferred oil? I know I seen you post rgt and qshm as well. Just curious

My 6.2 motor has always had the cold ticking sound on start up even when it was a new engine. I’ve used RGT and QS and the sound never went away. I saw where some guys using Redline for the same issue with the Hemi motor, had good results with RL. So I gave RL a try and it’s worked great in my Ford. I’ll post my UOA as soon as it’s back.

Might try some other higher viscosity oils (Higher HTHS) to see if you get the same effect. Something like Pennzoil Euro L 5W-30 from Walmart might be worth a try.
