Must be a lot of highway runs the few times you do use this vehicle for the olm to go that long? Obviously you don't like leaving it that long which is why you're switching to conventional for a 1 year change? Makes sense to me.

That is awfully thick for a new, small car!
Maybe try a 10W-30 HDEO?

The only oil filter on the shelf for my truck was M1
While standing in line I open the box to find someone had switched out the M1 for a Mopar filter...³
