A fresh fill of Kendall GT-1 Semi Synth 5w30 at Firestone on 3/30 (to replace the almost 5 month old winter oil fill 3500 miles later; the old fill was also Kendall 5w30).

As soon as the weather warms up a little I'm going to throw in some Moly along with ~300ppms zinc (as zddp) and plan to do an oil analysis on this supplement--which actually seems nothing more than about 7g of fine MoS2 dust. http://cgi.ebay.com/10-Moly-MoS2-engine-...=item35a83b1264

As plain and boring as this additive is, I'll be somewhat eager for the analysis to learn whether Firestone's GT-1 bulk oil has the titanium add package in it already.

I have been using PP 0w20 prior and right away, I notice that PU is even QUIETER than PP. Excellent. Cant wait to see how it does in the long run... Going to go 6,500 to 7,500 miles on it and test the oil... See how far I really can go!

Just finished a 1-year OCI (9K miles) on GC and Mann filter. No UOA this time.

Refilled with same oil, Hengst filter. I've now depleted my stock of GC. Trying to figure out if I should keep using GC or give something else a try. However, there is nothing as readily available as GC that meets BMW LL-01 spec... well, apart from M1 0w-40.
