My Mother In Law's 2001 Crown Vic, about 115,000 miles on the car, about 3,000 miles on the oil.

Out: O'Reilly Conventional 5W20 and MicroGuard filter.

In: Napa Conventional 5W20 and Napa Silver filter

She only drives about 3,000 miles a year so today was its yearly oil change and inspection. I replaced the air filter, cleaned the MAF and set the tire pressure too.

OMG, try the real thing next time, Olive, Peanut or Walnut oil. Those 3 conventional base cooking oils do not turn into saturated fats when used in a frying fan. Normal El-cheapo veggie oils are nearly as bad as using animal fats like butter or lard.

OEM filter the oil before reuse!

PS: For the TDI I dumped Ultra 0w40 and filled with Ultra 5w40, as the 0w version was not on special from a main Fleabay dealer. Mann filter made in Germany.

2012 new to us ford fusion 3.0, 70k miles

in: motorcraft filter and supertech 5w20 (was going to get something synthetic like quaker state, but realized i left my debit card in the truck and had exactly enough cash to cover with supertech)


never used motorcraft filters.. this is my first ford... good filters?

i have no problems with supertech, i use it alot. never an issue with it. change oil every 3k
