Post your latest oil change

2014 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited @16,767 miles

Out: Pennzoil Platinum Ultra w/Mopar oil filter
In: Same
OCI = 4,620 miles

Platinum Ultra continues to be hard to find in Metro Detroit. Some Walmarts don't carry it at all but I found that the one in Southgate on Dix-Toledo Road does.

I bought the two 5-quart bottles they had on hand, got 10% off (so $24 each) because one of them had been unscrewed...an assistant manager admitted it happens a lot -- she said somebody managed to take the tops off 25 jugs of the stuff (!!!) and then they had a bunch tip over...

Another manager standing with the assistant manager as we talked pushed some buttons on a handheld inventory tool and told me he'd just ordered six more 5qt bottles...

Dave, where are you in Michigan -- it does seem very random as to whether a Walmart will carry the Ultra -- I see the PP everywhere but not the PPU...I got my first two bottles at the Walmart up north in Gaylord..

Out: 3.75 qts Unknown oil with CarQuest Filter (Recently purchased and oil was over the full mark)

Whoever did the previous oil change must have been a gorilla. I had to use an impact wrench to get the drain plug off.

2006 Dodge Durango 4.7L @103,500 miles. Bought used at 98k miles.

Changed oil at 102k with Maxlife 5w30 + $2 Fram Extra Guard (before my BITOG indoctrination). Engine had a rough idle when cold and seemed down on power. Oil was black at 1500 miles. Decided to put my newfound BITOG knowledge to use. Time for lighter, full syn oil and a better quality filter.

Changed oil again at 103,500 with ST full synthetic 5w20 and Wix filter ($23). Shaky idle when cold has disappeared. Engine power is back to normal.

Planning one more short OCI at 105k with ST syn and WIX filter, then 5k+ syn OCI after that.

Changed the oil in the '14 Impreza SL earlier today. 31,846 miles.

Out: Kendall 0w-20 GT1 FS

In: Kendall 0w-20 GT1 FS

Changed at about 5,500 miles on the oil (6,000 mile interval per Subaru) and am going on a 800-900 mile trip Wednesday, so did it early for warranty sake.

the smitty's held up good with a filter change at 3.5k.engine was slightly louder although muffled sounding than at a fresh o/c .I had planned on using Smitty's again but I stumbled across the Castrol in an advance autoparts(i usually don't shop in advance due to bad experiences there) on clearance at $12.50 for a 5 qt jug.
