Oil Changed after 2806kms and 12 months.

I bought Kitacamry (LE/2.4 cyl) @ 97.5k miles and noticed a gunked up PCV valve...a bit worried about the impact of that gunky valve, I decided to change the latest oil (PYB 5w-30) after just 3k and pull the valve cover and inspect the top of the engine...you can see it here...

...the cover had some burn residue not on the engine ... the engine is not leaking or burning much oil (down about 4 ounces after 3k miles)...so I decided to go with PP 5w-30 (and Pure1 filter) from here on out...I also changed the PCV valve and the PCV hose.

I changed the plugs and cleaned the throttle body and the result is a smoother quieter engine...

Just changed the oil on the Volvo.

Outgoing Castrol Magnatec 5w30 A5/B5 Full Synth with a Hengst filter.

In went Comma X Tech 5w30 A5/B5 Full Synth with a Hengst filter.

Started raining so didn't take a UOA.

Oil was in there 8k and the new oil will stay in there pretty much the same.

This is the first time I have used any oil other than Magnatec.

And I must admit the engine was ever so slightly less noisy on start up.

Still sounds the same but the engine now sounds slightly more damped if that makes sense.

Been running injector cleaner through the car of late, Redex and more recently a Wynns product, I have also been putting some cheap 2 stroke through it again. Have done so before but then stopped for a while.

Car is certainly running well at the moment, fuel consumption is still constant at just under 50mpg.

Changed oil on Creampuff:
