The capacity on this car is a shade under 6 quarts.

There is a Mobil Extended Performance filter left in for its final 7500 miles. The old oil in the filter includes some MMO (20%) as well as NAPA Synthetic 5W-30, (20%) and PYB 10W-40 (60%).

The five fresh quarts include 1 qt. Valvoline 10W-40, 2 quarts NAPA synthetic 5W-30, and 2 quarts 5W-50 Castrol Edge synthetic.

Mileage seems not affected at all. This is now the hot season around here. My oil change target date is some time prior to March 1, 2013; I may do it much sooner as last time around I averaged 62 miles per day or so due to long road trips. If it gets real cold in winter I might add some MMO or Seafoam if I am going up to Central Nevada then.

When it comes to oil filters, you are a very brave man.

'85 F150, 300-6, 103K, 1st oil change since purchase:
4 quarts TropArctic 10W-30 SL SemiSynthetic ( $0.99 per quart from long, long ago) + 1 quart MMO I had on the shelf to replace the approximate 5 quarts that came out when I pulled the drain plug and then realized I didn't have any kind of filter wrench and didn't wish to spill oil all over the crown of my driveway...

I'll run it for a K, or so, and then start on my stash of $0.99 10W-30 Havoline DS.

Cheers!

p.s. I'll probably remember to change out the filter, as well.

OUT: Penn. Ultra 5w-30 & Pureone Ext. Length.

IN: Penn. Ultra 5w-30 & NAPA Gold Ext. Length.

Runs fantastic!

01 Toyota Tundra V8

6.5 qts of Napa Syn 5W20
300mL of Lubromoly MoS2
Wix 51515 filter

Might add half can more of MoS2 since one 300mL treats only 5qts.

Another one:

1997 Camry 4 banger @ 171098 miles.

OUT: Maxlife 5w-30 & Pureone filter

IN: Quaker State Defy 5w-30 & Pureone filter

We'll see if it leaks less oil than Maxlife.

Just changed my own oil for the first time in my life!

Amazing how much quieter this 4.0 inline 6 sounds with the 10w-40!

Was busy this past week;

2005 Toyota Corolla- 2qts M1 0w40/2.5qts M1 5w30. MC FL400S filter. 148K miles. Mother in law's car.

2012 Kia Optima- 4.5qts T6 5w40. No filter change. 2,300 miles, just wanted to get FF out. Will change oil/filter at 5K and proceed with normal OCI's.

2007 Ford F-150- 5qts PU 5w30/2qts PP 5w20. MC FL820S filter. 77,900 miles. Brother's truck. This one made me mad, according to my oil change log, this past fill (Motorcraft) had 14,400 miles on it! and they do a ton of short trips. Also told me the trans isn't "shifting right". It shifted ok, but again I say "change the fluid"!
