In: HPL SC 0w-30 and an OG fram ultra XG2.

Was going to use the Amsoil EAo11 I had purchased this summer but it was from 2017 and has developed some rust on the baseplate

Notes: Odd duck drain plug with no washer but some type of thin polymer coating and ring on "washer" side; ADBV held back a deluge of oil up in the engine - at least one quart; had to buy cap wrench, band wrench would not allow more than 10 degrees of turning without obstruction.

Nice choice of the SuperTech High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30.

I've been using that SuperTech High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30 oil as well @ 5,000 mile / 6 month OCI on 3 Honda Odysseys
that have extremely high engine temps on the cylinder heads due to the VCM being enabled and a poorly designed PCV.

Good luck - Maybe you can go another 150k miles and reach 400k+ miles.

Hope so. Hoping the R&P does its magic because a 1-2 qt every Oil change has spoiled the cat long ago and clogged it. The engine seems to be fine with the ST since these motors aren’t known to be overly picky

Latest oil change was yesterday & a mistake.

Dropped my F150 off at a friends shop to get the rear power window replaced(leaked & shorted the electronics). While there his service writer had checked the box in their service program to change the oil. They dumped 7qts of HPL PCMO 5w-40 and removed the Micro Guard Select filter that had 2-3k miles on them & poured in 7qts of Castrol GTX 5w-20 syn blend with a motorcraft filter. Called my friend this afternoon about it. He apologized profusely & offered to credit back my card, special order HPL & do another oil change or whatever credit I'd like. Told him to just give me a free service on my FIL 2020 Mustang GT & call it even (I have more HPL at home anyway).

Observations/butt dyno/hearing speculations: Mobil 1 is nosier than that Castrol. Again it's subjective, but I have used variations of formulas from the big three (Mobil 1, Cas, Penn) and Mobil 1 (0w40, ESPm EP) have been the nosiest of the bunch. Just my take and if I had a issue, I would not really use Mobil 1 to begin with. However, Castrol does not have 0w30 A3 in my area in the 4.7 liter jugs, and I do not feel like using PP LX 0w40, wanted some PAO and ESP offered that.

Valvoline recommends 4 oil change intervals (perhaps 5,000 miles each) with Valvoline Restore and Protect.
Please keep us posted on how the Valvoline Restore and Protect goes.

In my case, I still have 6 quarts of HPL Engine Cleaner 30 in my stash,
so I do 1 cleaning annually in each vehicle with 1 quart HPL + remaining quarts SuperTech High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30.

I am lucky that none of my 4 vehicles consume any oil as the 3 2006-2007 Honda Odyssey's have normal tension piston rings,
and my 2012 Toyota Corolla LE has the re-designed low tension piston rings that eliminates the oil burning issue that affected the 2009-2010 Corollas.

In: same.

I got a sample of the drain as well as the one before of this oil which I need to send off.
