‘23 Toyota Sienna Hybrid XLE
51,825 miles / 4,380 miles OCI
Out/In: Valvoline Restore and Protect 0W-20 / 90915-YZZN1

4th and final run of Valvoline Restore and Protect for now. PUP is up next OCI. Changed the oil a little early due to some up coming trips and busy weekends ahead. Not sure when I’ll have the time again. Rather get it off my plate now than try to squeeze it in later.

The Toyota OEM drain plug gasket and Valvoline Restore and Protect saga takes a bit of a turn. I made sure to get as little Valvoline Restore and Protect on the gasket as possible the last time I change the oil and that seemed to help. Material didn’t stick the pan or bolt and pealing with minimal. Moral of the story keep the oil off the gasket and it should be fine. Just be aware of the possibility of material coming off.

2014 Toyota Venza 2GR-FE V6 134830miles. 4,530 mi OCI
Out: Valvoline 5w-30 EP HM + Walmart st9972

Last 1K mi added Yamalube ring free fuel additive into two fuel tank

In: Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w-30 + st9972 + Liqui Moly engine oil saver 145g (1/2 bottle)

Very little oil consumed
The out oil was pitch black. Never saw any thing like this before. Always doing a 5K OCI except for a 10k HPL euro 5w-30 run. EP HM produces a very quiet smooth highway drive.

2023 Harley Street Glide. Changed all 3 holes today! Bel-Ray out, same Bel-Ray back in. My M8 Harley fluid of choice is Bel-Ray V-Twin Semi-Synthetic 20w-50 oil, Bel-Ray Big Twin 85w-140 Transmission fluid and Bel-Ray V-Twin primary. Same with the old EVO except mineral no blend.

Changed at only 2K miles as someone suggested the Bel-Ray may not be up to the task and thought sending a sample of my mineral mineral / blend to a lab to see whats going on at 2K may show if any oil shearing is happening or if any oil degradation has started being i'm using a blend / Mineral and not a FULL synthetic as so many others now do.

May be a good test as I didn't do a road trip this Summer so most of my 2k miles was in Coastal Carolina HEAVY Summer Beach traffic but I also did a 4 hour day trip most every Sunday it was not raining so some highway but lots of HOT days stuck in traffic so lets see how the Bel-Ray is holding up...

I collected my sample and hope to send it off Monday!

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2025 Sienna. Good to see someone using 0w-20 in the warranty period, as I have been wonder about doing that vs. the 0w-16 it is spec'd for. I won't be using Valvoline Restore and Protect, but I am a Valvoline fanboy.

Haven’t had any concerns of note. Used both 0W-16 and 0W-20 of various brands on our previous 2021 Sienna which was totaled from an accident. Went back and forth between both grades without issue. Just decide to stick with 0W-20 on this Sienna. I like having the more options available.

If you stick with something like VL Advanced 0W-20 at 5,000 mile intervals you’ll be well served. This engine isn’t particular about oil.

Hey as long as it wasn’t used lawn mower oil!

It sure wasn’t. I bought a bunch of that toro full synthetic very very cheaply when a local hardware store went out of business and I change the oil in this car on pretty short intervals with whatever full synthetic I can buy cheap. I’m sure someone will tell me I’m an idiot but so far the 2.4L junker has survived my antics

I'm sure it's just PCMO in a different bottle, I really doubt that they'd blend anything special just for a lawn mower.
