2021 Kia Seltos 2.0L PFI 4,500 mile / 6 month OCI:
Out : M1 5W30 EP (4.2 qrts.) + Fram Ultra #9688 oil filter
In : M1 0W30 ESP Euro + Fram Ultra 9688 oil filter

*WM just raised M1 vanilla and EP prices by $3.00 per jug so now the M1 0W30 ESP was $2.00 less than M1 EP - so why not give the M1 ESP 0W30 a try out to make the team ? The M1 ESP is probably a better oil for under 10K mile OCI's anyway ...

24 mustang with 18k on factory filter and possibly oil.

Out/off: black factory filter and oil

In:safety Kleen 5w30 and PZ-167 filter made in USA (Purolator)

With the 5.0 the 10 qt capacity would likely help mitigate this.

With the 2.3EB Turbo and only 6 qt capacity it is concerning.

I might run Valvoline Restore & Protect to make an attempt at heading off the start of any ring deposits.

My work doesn’t use Valvoline We only use Safety Kleen oils.

2011 Silverado with HD offroad and tow package, AFM active. 528,796 miles (original engine).
SupraTech 5W30 (usually that, or Mobil 1) and Bestline additive (used latter since approximately 200,000 miles), WIX filter.
Always change it hot, always treat any "breach" of engine interior practically like a surgical field.

It's been across the country 5 times, I've had it up to around 12,000 feet in the White/Inyo range, I drive it for work (Geologist/Construction special inspector) and often enough the changes are about every 6-8 weeks in frequency.

Great to hear AFM can go that long …

That's a good choice for the MPI 2.0 engine. I recommend sticking to the EP T/A (10W30?) for your GDI engine.

Even thou you didn't need to change the Ultra filter, you made the right choice to change it by abiding by the new vehicle warranty mileage limitations in your owners manual. Had you used that Ultra for another OCI run, you accumulate too many miles allowed. But that used Ultra would have easily withstood 9k miles in that cleaner running MPI engine.

2020 Rio Hatchback 1.6 Litre MPI - 11,000(+/-) mi. My brother's car; I changed his oil with Pennzoil Platinum 0W20 & Fram Ultra cartridge filter. Approx. 5,000 mi. on old oil. While the filter is not hard to change, it can be a PITA because the filter is determined to saturate your hand/arm in oil. A pleasant oil change otherwise.(y)

...And now for my car: 2016 Forte 1.8 Litre MPI. 59,XXX mi. - 5,006 mi. on old oil.
OUT: Napa Full Synthetic 5W30 & Napa Gold 1334 filter.
IN: Castrol Edge Euro Car 5W40 A3/B4 API SP & MicroGard MGL 51334 filter (installed - not pictured).
Wait... "Euro Car" oil for a car made in South Korea?? 🇰🇷 That's right - FIGHT ME. 😜🤣
Honestly, I love how simple an oil change is on my car - no fuss. Yes, my car is filthy from a round trip halfway across the country, but the inside of it's Heart is clean.🤗🛢️

What are your thoughts on a well maintained Seltos 2.0L that runs clean OCI for mixed suburban , average driving conditions ?

2000 Silverado LS 5.3, 187400. In, Valvoline Restore & Protect 5W/30 and Frame Tough Guard filter. Also added a a can of LiquiMoly Hydraulic Lifter Additive just because I had it and it needed used. Out: Mobile1 High Mileage Full Synthetic and Auto-Rx. This is my second oil change since I purchased the vehicle in March with 182200 miles.

2006 Toyota Tacoma, 2.7L, 150k on truck
OCI: 7k miles, 7 months
Out: 5+ Qt M1 T&SUV / Napa Gold
In: 5 Qt M1 HM, 1/2 Qt M1 T&SUV / Wix
Used a bit less than 1/2 Qt during OCI, no make-up oil added

Stick with the Mobil-1 ESP 0w30, or if you bought the Seltos used and the warranty is expired, move to SP Mobil-1 Euro 0w40.

Our same 2.0 MPI engine didn't fare well on 5w40. Got a wee-bit noisy using Quaker State Euro 5w40. It's now got an equal HPL blend of Premium Plus and No VII 10w30. Hoping it stays quiet and without consumption for 4k. That'll take my wife nine months of city driving to accumulate.

Our Hyundai 2.4 GDI is doing great on the thick Amsoil Euro 0w30 (12.3cst@100). That engine likes any oil brand and any viscosity I put in her. Never any consumption........not yet anyways at 42k.

2021 Ford Mustang GT 5.0

OCI: 5,000mi

Out: 10 qts QS Euro 5W-40 & Microgard Select 57502
In: 10 qts Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 & Microgard Select 57502

Got the Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 on clearance from O’Reilly’s for $6 per 5qt jug a couple months back. Picked up four jugs if I recall. After this 10W-30 stint it will be back to Euro oils.
